Yup he could play a big role this year. Lot of talent still at the position, need to develop it and get Steve healthy

If not, there’s going to be a lot of excuse making about young players needing time to develop while we win 6 games max.

Remember, 2026 was the season where people said Brown would put it all together and really compete for the top of the conference. Last year was a “punt” even before it started. If the goalposts start getting moved that’s a bad sign.

The goalposts being moved only applies if you actually believed 2026 was the season things would happen.

I sure hope so, because it seems a lot do not. I'm not connected so I don't know anything behind the scenes but losing Gill, Cook, Ross & Hornsby is bad. Then toss in our starting RB in Willis. At this current moment, things look bleak. Hopefully portal will add a lot of key pieces, but I'm very concerned.

Retain and develop. That’s what I was told by Fran but fran says stuff and writes checks he can’t cash after a 10-3 season but hey I’m a hater so I get it. Don’t want to get in anyone’s way on the Fran train

It's every post. You really need a second note. I get that this season was great for you. Last year, not so much. As I wrote, this recruiting class, this past one, 2026, was the best recruiting class we have had in well over 30 years. Now, what you don't know, even though a number of us have written that we know for certain, Fran told two of the really three guys that left, get out. They wanted to stay. Fran, for reasons other than football, decided that it was better for the program for them to leave. Contrary to what you have stated it wasn't that they stopped buying what he was selling but rather they didn't behave in a manner that reflected well on the school or the team.

Who? We lost a good one to Texas. What other players have we lost that really have hurt us. Meanwhile, we got a qb that helped win us 10 games just last year.

I know what you’re talking about but these are 18-21 year olds. It happens everywhere. The last 8 games were extremely frustrating. I can’t imagine what the kids that put their entire time into this must have felt. Add in the stress to make it to the league, or earn NIL $ through play. I’m sure weren’t in a good psychological space.
