I’m not concerned about any one guy leaving. That’s the sport now.

I am concerned about a lot of productive guys leaving. We better have a TON of replacements lined up via the portal.

If not, there’s going to be a lot of excuse making about young players needing time to develop while we win 6 games max.

Remember, 2026 was the season where people said Brown would put it all together and really compete for the top of the conference. Last year was a “punt” even before it started. If the goalposts start getting moved that’s a bad sign.

This is where I am. Cook, all good to have him go. Especially if he’s a problem off the field.

And I’m happy to be patient to see where we net out with the portal.

But we were so inept post-Angeli, that I’m worried when we start having position groups that 1) need a decent amount of portal guys and/or 2) are relying on freshman.

We are slotting Angeli back in like he didn’t have a very serious injury. Which, I hope he can be back near 100%, but he didn’t break a bone with this injury.

So Cook gone in isolation? Fine. Patience to see where we net out? Fine.

But we were the worst team in P4 by the end of the year and punted on the season. We aren’t climbing out of a hole, we’re climbing out of a crater. And a lot of people seem like Steve Angeli coming back will make us an 8 win team without consideration for what we’re looking at.

Btw, as it pertains to WR, we need a Jackson Meeks type. A grown up that can catch every 50/50 ball and convert third downs consistently.

First, I don't agree. I believe Fran is making tough decisions, but will build a very competitive roster. Second, dork.

Not at all surprising. In a few different interviews I saw, he came off like he didn’t care much for SU/CNY.

He was only here to rehab his rep and show what he could do then jump to somewhere he deemed bigger and better.

Agree on the angeli stuff. I think he played great versus Clemson other than that, let’s pump the brakes see what happens when he comes back.that injury is no joke

Yes I do think that because I think I he’s full of it. Cook is an elite athlete who could be a great piece to the offense, his athleticism should not be just dismissed. He’s also been out of HS for 4 years which makes a huge difference in development. Syracuse needs a bunch of 22-23 year old guys on their first 22 and nobody will convince me otherwise

Retain and develop. That’s what I was told by Fran but fran says stuff and writes checks he can’t cash after a 10-3 season but hey I’m a hater so I get it. Don’t want to get in anyone’s way on the Fran train

Surely give Fran the benefit of the doubt but man did we lose a lot of fire power on offense, before the transfers I thought D line and linebacker were our biggest needs now we need to recruit probably 3 proven receivers and a starting Rb. I want to be wrong but I can’t imagine our WRs in 26 are better than our 25 WR room, and yes I know we have Calvin Russell but he and Gough are true freshman. We lost proven playmakers.
