We just had the best recruiting year that we have had in over 30 years. Now, I get that your point is that the shine will wear off with those kids but that is the business we have chosen. We will get real good kids in the portal. Good kids leave other schools as well. And if you think that there is some guru out there that it doesn't happen to, good luck with that. This is how many schools for Cook? Oh, and of the kids that hurt us to lose, a couple of them, only kids that hurts to lose, were told to leave.

HS recruiting is becoming more irrelevant by the year. What’s the point of a top 30 class is they’re all gone by the time they’re ready to be difference makers. Look at Frans first class for example. Who is left? Just another reason why the halves will continue to separate themselves from the halve nots.

We need a portal class like Fran had his first year and then some need 2 WRs need a new OL also new DL 3 safeties, and 2 QBs and last 2 RBs.

To me it's not the loss of Cook in isolation that is the concern. It's the overall net loss of talent from the WR room that is the problem. Let's see who additionally we bring in. Fran is well aware of the current puts and takes. Gotta believe he realizes he needs to add back into the WR room via portal. Let's see what overall team composition is going into Spring.

Nobody acting like we are. But this isn’t Alabama we’re we can lose most guys to the draft and grab a whole new team in portal and 5 Starr class. If you lose so many guys that have you stats last year it turns to a problem. I also remember you saying we need to keep 1 of gill or cook a few weeks ago what changed?

For schools like that, yes. It’s easy when you’re successful and can pay them. Why would they leave? That’s most kids ultimate dream destination. And for the kids they do lose either to the draft, or back ups that hit the portal, they reload with the best players from the feeder programs like us, and everyone outside those top 12-18 or so programs.

I’m hopeful that the pass heavy nature of this offense will make us a somewhat appealing spot for WR’s. That’s seemingly been the case at the HS level based on our 26 class and the early signs of our 27 class.

Im saying we need 3, not what we are going to get. Agree though, best case is probably a good FBS WR, maybe a solid FCS WR, and then maybe a lower level FBS with a few snaps of experience but likely without much action. Then round out the room with kids

After the year we all went through it is easy to be gloom and doom about anything and everything. But we can get a running back to do what Willis did. we won 10 games just a year ago for God's sake. We lost our QB. That ruined our season. Shameful and malpractice not to have anyone that could step in but sorry if I'm not living in the greg era because Angeli got hurt.
