I just want to reiterate that Reed was a consensus 4-Star Tackle in High School and committed to Ped State during their Spring Game. PSU cut bait with him over his grades in Dec just before signing day. He ended up signing with Western Michigan because of his grades but never enrolled there. WMU signed him hoping they could get him after 1 semester.

He was the #1 recruit in Michigan and an ESPN 300 kid. Had offers in HS from Ped State, Georgia, Florida, Michigan, Michigan St, Nebraska and Tennessee.

He may not be an early enrollee but because he isn't a true JUCO, he's more like a Cade Fortin transferring to a JUCO after signing with a school, why couldn't he enroll in June? Be on campus for S&C.

We need to find the high rated kids who get buried in a depth chart at a powerhouse (Abdul Adams OK) and find the kids who didn’t qualify academically the first time but have turned things around in JUCO. We need to pick up a few of these kids a class until we can win these battles straight out of HS.

He does not have to redshirt. It just means he has an extra year he can use as a redshirt if it's needed. For a JUCO lineman that's probably a good thing.

If you mean academically, he wouldn't be graduating from a JUCO after just one year if he wasn't.

Being a 4 for 3 makes him ideal for late in the season earned PT thus getting 4 games in and still being able to redshirt while giving him time to get in shape and learn the system. A lot to like here.
