Judah Mintz to test NBA Draft waters

The question is can he withdraw from the draft after he's hired an agent and return to school?

i.e. if it's highly likely he won't go first round and get the big payday?

...because he will likely go second round.
Yes.

Yes.

This made my hour. Thank you.

The way I was reading it, was if an NCAA-approved agent is retained by the player for the NBA draft, the player must go through the draft and they have the option of returning to school IF they go undrafted.

Glad to be wrong about that, cuz Judah is deffo getting drafted in the 2nd round if he stays in.

If he's not showing up on draft boards at this point, what's the chance he announces sooner rather than later he's returning? Although if he gets invited to the Combine it'll be helpful for next year for him to go through the process now, and that's not until mid-May. He might also want to have pre-draft workouts if invited. It demystifies it for next year, and he has the chance of raising his stock this year. But on the other hand, Sbucketball on the fan board is going nuts waiting and that most likely factors into his timetable.

Are you saying the invites go out in mid May or that’s when it’s held?

Starting next year the Combine will be a requirement. Not relevant for Judah now - who is slipping to mid/late 2nd round based on recent declarations - but …

Lot’s of changes. Last year Chet refused to give his medical info to the Rockets which caused them stress in case he fell to the third pick. I guess prospects won’t be able to put teams in that position going forward.

Just based on timelines for this stuff, don't you have to enter the portal by May 11? And wouldn't that be before Judah likely makes any NBA draft decision?

If yes, then...

I understand the money aspect, but anyone watching the playoffs think Judah could hang with that level?
The key is what does Judah think? FWIW, very few college guys, let alone freshmen, can hang at that level in their first year or two.
