When all the "basketball only schools" (Gtown, Providence, St Johns, Seton Hall, Marquette, Depaul) left to form the New Big East Conference, Syracuse would have been stuck behind in what became the AAC with ECU, Tulsa, Tulane, SMU, etc...

We joined the ACC. We've had the NCAA penalties, injuries and players who leave early. Yet, JB still has a winning team. Sure, it is not as pretty as we are accustomed to watching, but how many coaches could have navigated the issues SU has faced since we joined the ACC? Serious question.

SU made the right decision for all sports, hoops included. UConn was never getting the invite. Remember, we could have joined the ACC when FSU joined, how would that have been?
