Kadary transferring to Seton Hall

College basketball teams trend quickly and can change year after year. What a team did 5 years ago, 10 years ago has nothing to do with tomorrow.
But the coaches and AD do have a lot to do with it. Willard is no Scott Drew and SHU's athletic department is nowhere near the equal of Baylor's.

What are you talking about? It seems like when you say you like KR better than Joe, you are talking about in a basketball sense, right? But then are you still in that mode when you say JB doesn't agree with you? Because I think that is a poor conclusion to draw.

Players have to earn their time here all the time. It's not simply who is playing better at the moment. Seniority counts. Actions count. They can be overcome but it is a process.

KR had a trajectory in front of him that had an MCW look to it. KR needed to show an ounce of delay of gratification, and accept his promotion into the role. He didn't want to do that. Truth be told, MCW might not have either if he had the early out option. Remember MCW had the embarrassing moment of the department store mishap, much like KRs unfortunate event. It is a easier to run from things like that, than it is to hang in there and accept responsibility and ride it out.

It's unfortunate to lose KR. But people who keep promoting this idea that JB couldn't see the value of KR, or was playing favorites with JG3, generally have a predisposition to JB hate. That explains a lot of the negativity here, but not from you - you are a solid poster.
Ok...Kadary is gone.

Do you believe we will get another guard to challenge Joe for the starting point guard spot?

If no, why

Well thanks but all i was saying that if dasher was the head coach, and I didn't ever go to a practice so my evaluations are only from watching games, Kadary was better for the team. Coach Jb obviously disagreed with me because he played Joe more than Kadary. Simple as that, really.

I just don't understand why everything is so polarized with Kadary.

Is he a good player? - yes.

Would have have helped Syracuse next season? - yes.

Does it suck he left? - yes.

Is he as good as some seem to think he is on the board? - no.

Is this move lateral at best, doesn't make a ton of sense & quite possibly a poor choice for Kardary? - just might be?

Is it necessary to try & disparage Syracuse because the move to Seton Hall doesn't seem to vibe & you're having trouble processing it? - no.

Will Syracuse basketball be fine next season? - I think so, looking forward to watching & enjoying as a lifelong fan.

I just wonder, is this strange "what are we as a program/expectations/we aren't what we once were" conversations throughout the season actually hinder fans from enjoying the season? - that seems to be confirmed daily on the board

very reasonable

You do realize probably was happening at other colleges across the country.
Lol I can assure you nothing special is going on at Seton Hall. First of all its a commuter.school. also nj covid rules are the same. Murphy just copies Cuomo's plan.

I actually buy it. I legit watched JG launch a few really bad 3's, get pulled and have JB not say a word to him but only give him a hand shake. Same game, K makes a poor shot and got verbally lit up on his way to the bench by JB.
But how do you know he wasn’t getting lit up for a poor defensive rotation in the zone or a poor passing decision? He yelled at Joe ALOT this season. I’d argue that he yelled at him more than Kadary, especially towards the end of the season. And Kadary was often in the games at the end and Joe was on the bench.

While going 20-12 or so.
Ok so did VCU. I guess they are on the same level as Maryland and VCU. I get it regular season wins over the last five years determine what is a better program. UCLA until this year was no better than Dayton. Makes a lot of sense

Willard is a shady pos that has what? One tournament win? I'd bet anything tampering went on here.

Let's have a virtual drum circle and let DW wail away/
I’ve got a few nominations for who can best perform the interpretive dance portion of the program.

Seton Hall has one tourney win since we last cut down the nets.

If I were to nominate someone, you know who, I will incur a horrible wrath.

Its entirely understandable why people are angry and fed up with things as they are.

Just really little we can do, once our fists are tired of swinging at the air, other than watch and see how next year plays out.

It’s not settling for mediocrity or becoming complacent. No one here will tell you SU’s in a good/reassuring position right now. Still interested to see how next year unfolds though.

We’re an upper middle of the pack ACC team that goes 20-12 or so.

Just call it what it is.

Agreed.

Some are trying to talk like we’re still a perennial top 10 team or something though.

And throwing out all kinds of weird things like “well how did Duke do this year?”

We’re a perennial 20-12 type team that sometimes makes the tourney, and sometimes wins a couple games when we do, and sometimes we miss it. We haven’t had a good NBA player drafted since Jerami Grant. People are still trying to pretend it’s 2013.

We got to the sweet 16 they didn't make the tourney. We might not be Baylor.but we have won a hell of alot more than Seton Hall has.
About the same the last 5 years though.

Quiet kid from Brooklyn, now will play close to home in nearly all his home and away games who went the local route instead of heading to another big program away from home. There is a lot of that going around right now too. All the fuss and debate aside- this decision I'm gonna wager is way more about Kadary than anyone or anything else.

so do you think Seton Hall is at the same level as Syracuse? if so is that based on regular season record since 2015?

No, to summarize some posters are upset that Kadary didn't transfer to a better team. they are now shifting their argument to seton hall being just as good as Syracuse. this inane back and forth takes up 8 or so of the pages. the other couple pages wish him well
What level do you think Syracuse is on?

Not in the NCAA tourney. We have 9 wins they have one. I was in high school the last time they saw the 2nd weekend of the tourney.
