Kadary transferring to Seton Hall

Obviously I wanted him back. But if he's not going to be in the ACC and it's not uconn, Georgetown or Kentucky I don't know if we could have asked for a better result.
As for Kadary, I don't get the choice. Here's the Seton Hall draft record.
I don't know who was advising him but I think a strong argument could be made he would have had a better chance of getting drafted higher as the sixth man here instead of as a starter at Seton Hall. And that's assuming he didn't have a legitimate chance to beat JG3 out, which JB might have been more open to this year with Kadary a sophomore. If Buddy or Joe got off to a slow start is it really crazy to think JB might have made a change at the point like he did with Carey and JG3?
Also maybe we overrated Kadary and his options weren't as good as he or we expected. I can't imagine it is all about going closer to home.
So today was a bit about making chicken salad out of chicken _. It beats the hell out of him coming to the dome wearing a FSU or Duke jersey.

I'm asking this 100% sincerity, genuineness & no malice. If that's a truly honest assessment of Kadary, why hasn't he gotten any type of look from NBA, like at all?
Oh, they know all about him. Have you seen the NBA draft analysts like Sam Vecenie praise him on Twitter? He needs an off-season of work on his jumper (as JB has said) and has to prove he can work harder than he has (his high school coach says that’s his biggest issue). And then they need to see the resulting production next season. But you get the sense they fully expect him to be ready to get serious looks after next year.

But how do you know he wasn’t getting lit up for a poor defensive rotation in the zone or a poor passing decision? He yelled at Joe ALOT this season. I’d argue that he yelled at him more than Kadary, especially towards the end of the season. And Kadary was often in the games at the end and Joe was on the bench.
Yeah I dont really...it was a feeling ai had and it was directly after shooting the shot. But youre right...I am just pointing out what I saw and what I thought from it.

ok then you must admit then that Boeheim has done an incredible job given this poor talent and translating it into strong tournament performance. maybe he knows what he is doing to develop a team for March?
"Poor talent" is a relative term.
I haven't done the research, but i wonder how our recruits out of high school compared to those of SD State and WVA.

"Poor talent" is relative to Syracuse standards of yore.

And "strong tournament performance" is also a subjective thing. Two games. That's what it was. Reaching the "Sweet 16" doesn't mean you're one of the best 16 teams.

Ok...Kadary is gone.

Do you believe we will get another guard to challenge Joe for the starting point guard spot?

If no, why
No. I don't think there will be an addition of another guard better than Symir.

I wish it could happen with the portal going everyone is looking for a starting gig. It is unfortunate to lose KR because the rest of the team looks good.

yep, that’s my concern.

i totally think the position KR filled this year is replaceable (maybe not his future possible ceiling), i just don’t see it getting filled

Thanks for the info, he's a skilled player that needs development to be NBA worthy... I don't know if that matches your first assessment? There are plenty of raw, young potential development guys who get drafted to then develop on the bench of NBA squad, or even the G-League... Kadary is not currently at the level to be even be that, agreed?

Number 1 pick last year went to Georgia. What’s their draft history?

Im not sure the school really matters in that regard. NBA will find them if they’re good enough.

We had top 10 picks when we were really good. Recently we’ve had fringe guys who either don’t quite make it, or don’t stick beyond their first contract. Not a coincidence that’s what our best guys have been, considering what our records have been. IMO.

It just sucks because of our HC we can never have a full roster and it’s always going have turnover.
We had games last year when Washington/Goodine had moments they played well last year.

We have 3 guards this year and only have 3 guards right now for next year.

If they have off games we will lose those games. It just sucks watching these good teams have depth and we can’t.

This is spot on. If he was going to transfer then Seton Hall as destination is as good as we could have asked. They are no threat, no rival and we won’t play them. Good luck to him but a puzzling choice for a variety of reasons.

I think we got caught up in overestimating how good he currently is. When Seton Hall is your big reveal it speaks to some lack of interest elsewhere.

Last year people were in a tizzy because Wash, Goodine and Carey left. I said they left because Richmond was coming in and they would get no PT. I didn't see anyone saying how great KR was going to be. Now the tizzy is over KR leaving and I'm saying Symir is going to be very effective and JG will make a big leap in his Jr season.

These are just random guesses though.

Top three picks were an UGA, 3 game guy at Memphis and a non US college.

Then it went FSU, Auburn, USC, non US college, Dayton, non US college, Maryland, FSU, ISU, Bama, Vandy and THEN we get to a blue blood in UNC.

Actually a bunch of people on here were touting him in the offseason

So Kadary is moving down in class in search of playing time. I am/was one of Kadary's biggest supporters and still firmly believe this years team would have been better with him starting. It's honestly not even fair to JG3 to compare him to Kadary, different level, style and class of player . But I find it very interesting that all the Florida St, Baylor, OK St, Gonzaga early talk resulted in Kadary picking Seton Hall. I also find it interesting the total and complete denial many have to the point they refuse to even consider than Torrence is Kardary's replacement. That fact cannot be any more obvious. Waaah! his stats weren't good at Marquette. Waaah! Marquette was bad this year...

Davion Mitchell averaged 3.7 ppg at Auburn before he transferred to Baylor
Jonathan Tchamwa Tchatchoua averaged 3.4 ppg at UNLV before he transferred to Baylor
I daresay many of those same people would freak out if SU took a transfer from UNC Asheville or Presbyterian (MaCio Teague and Adam Flagler say hello). That is 4 of the 8 players on the extraordinarily deep Baylor team that actually play.

so? You do realize all SU students signed an agreement to abide by covid rules.

Which I'm sure all su students followed. Only this age once cant blame them for doing what same has been done for generations of college kids.

I think fsu was his first choice. Then he realized they play 33 guys something he should have realized before he left.

In exactly what ways?
