Kadary transferring to Seton Hall

Which I'm sure all su students followed. Only this age once cant blame them for doing what same has been done for generations of college kids.
Generations of kids didn't go to college in a pandemic. This decision wasn't made because Seton Hall has relaxed rules and is the college to go to.

So Kadary is moving down in class in search of playing time. I am/was one of Kadary's biggest supporters and still firmly believe this years team would have been better with him starting. It's honestly not even fair to JG3 to compare him to Kadary, different level, style and class of player . But I find it very interesting that all the Florida St, Baylor, OK St, Gonzaga early talk resulted in Kadary picking Seton Hall. I also find it interesting the total and complete denial many have to the point they refuse to even consider than Torrence is Kardary's replacement. That fact cannot be any more obvious. Waaah! his stats weren't good at Marquette. Waaah! Marquette was bad this year...

Davion Mitchell averaged 3.7 ppg at Auburn before he transferred to Baylor
Jonathan Tchamwa Tchatchoua averaged 3.4 ppg at UNLV before he transferred to Baylor
I daresay many of those same people would freak out if SU took a transfer from UNC Asheville or Presbyterian (MaCio Teague and Adam Flagler say hello). That is 4 of the 8 players on the extraordinarily deep Baylor team that actually play.

Torrance is Kadarys replacement as Joe‘s backup.
correct.

We’ll be decent next season. But Kadary could have helped get us back to the great Syracuse teams of the past 45 years.
That's the exact reasoning I'm butthurt about it. I'm going to spend 70+ hours on the couch or in a seat watching next years team and the ceiling for that squad was lowered with him departing.

Actually a bunch of people on here were touting him in the offseason
KR got the opportunity he had at SU because Carey was a huge miss. JG as well probably wouldn't of seen much PT as a fresh or soph if Carey excelled. So he walked in to a huge role and proceeded to look past his good fortune. Now Symir and Cole are both very good and highly rated players who have had minor rules at their respective programs waiting for their turn. I believe both of them will come hard. JG is a soph and it is very common for a big jump to occur for players in their Jr season, seen it many times.

Usually happens with the long, athletic guys that are finding their way. Not as common in the less athletic, shooter types.

We are always decent.
The problem are we trying to be decent or be a top 4 ACC team.
Top 4 in the conference and top 4 in the ACC! We have a huge fan base and our expectations aren’t unreasonable.

Pretty vague with that first one, I hope so with the second and third.
He will be stronger and faster. He has 2 years experience seeing high level D1 schemes.

Last year people were in a tizzy because Wash, Goodine and Carey left. I said they left because Richmond was coming in and they would get no PT. I didn't see anyone saying how great KR was going to be. Now the tizzy is over KR leaving and I'm saying Symir is going to be very effective and JG will make a big leap in his Jr season.
Find said post.

That doesn’t automatically get you better, Kaleb Joseph saw D1 schemes and never got better, a lot of players don’t get better.

I don’t see how Joe gets faster, stronger sure anybody can, but that isn’t going to make him faster and he’ll never be fast enough to get by D1 guards. He isn’t a point guard.

The roster structure and style of play for Syracuse has changed over the last 3 years. They are really turning into a shooting type of team. Someone must have convinced Boeheim that the numbers work out better. Kind of like Baylor. Joe is there to shoot, and I don't think we've seen him really get on tract yet.

You watched Baylor and think “shooting team“. Interesting.

Just curious, does the Lands verbal take any sting away from the Kadary leaving? We did land Cole Swider who I must admit, I always liked. We also have the Symir Torrence verbal who I must admit, I have never been all that high on. I said it a while back, like the portal, hate the portal, but things are going to be more interesting for us college fan fanatics going forward. Not that Lands is in the portal (God forbid ever).

The fact that you just compared the Syracuse roster of the past 3 years to the roster of Baylor says a lot. Bad take cousecouse.

it depends. Is Lands expected to play PG In 2 years?
ive been smitten by Copeland.

No doubt. Not suggesting they don’t shoot it well.

but the athleticism and defensive philosophy between their team and the team we are building seems to be much different.
You are correct. But there is more than one way to skin a cat. Not that I am saying that you want to skin a cat. There is certainly no evidence that you have ever skinned a cat. I think we can build powerful teams building it our way. We have done it. Our '12 team played great defense. Different, but great. Get me a few more 5 stars in the class of '22 and I will get back to you. And the crazy thing is, we just might.

I was probably one of the few that was fine with the Kadary, JG3 and Buddy lineup. Those 3 along with Marek and Q might have been our best lineup this year and we hardly ever saw it. Apologies to Griff who despite all his talent and athleticism couldn't seem to get out of his own way on the court sometimes.
