Kaleb Joseph to transfer to Creighton

Uh, no I wouldn't. Because I didn't choose those two teams as examples. You did. Furthermore, another poster called the George Mason and Rutgers citations silly. So I'm not the only one who thinks you made a ludicrous analogy. And any basketball player with an ounce of common sense, looking to transfer, wouldn't equate us with those teams either.

I was not equating SU and Rutgers. You have a reading comprehension problem.

I was making the point that a hypothetical transfer player who was interested in playing for a team that would be seriously dancing would give weight to how successful that team would likely be.

Rutgers was offered as a extreme example to try and make that point. (For example, such an imaginary player would not pick Rutgers because in spite of the fact that they might easily get playing time, the school is unlikely to make the Tourney unless the transfer is Pistol Peter Maravich).

I never equated SU and Rutgers, ever. That's something you made up or that you just didn't grasp.

You're calling this poster our version of Rutgers Al based on that post???? Ok. I'm sure you couldn't care less, but as far as I'm concerned, igor is no longer the worst poster on this board.

The optimism in his post is almost exactly like a RutgersAl post.

Did you actually go to SU or did you just buy a T-Shirt and decide to become a fan?

Just tired of the "UConn is trash cause they're not a P-5 team" mentality. They have a title as a non P-5 school unless I have the year they entered the AAC wrong. Also Nova is no longer a P-5 school either, unless the new Big East has the same status as the old. Yet they hoisted the trophy last night.
"UConn is trash cause they're not a P-5 team" is not a mentality.

It's a fact.

You are right. I couldn't care less.

Since you had to go into a long and convoluted explanation of your decision to choose Rutgers as an example, and an extreme one at that by your own admission, it's not my reading comprehension that's the problem but your lack of logic. And the other poster drew the same conclusion as I did re the poor analogy.

And I have a bachelors degree in newspaper journalism from Newhouse. What's yours in? Or as per your moniker are you a Syracuse native? Which would be fine. You don't need a degree from SU to be a fan, or a learned person. Well, maybe the first is applicable for you anyway.

In basketball you can win as a mid-major in a smaller conference. We use it as a slight - and maybe that's not always right - but the resources are different and will continue to widen. I'm glad we're in a P5 conference and would rather be in than where Nova and UCONN are coming from.

But you knew I was just having fun...why so sensitive about UConn's feelings?

Those three players were not good enough to play at an ACC level. They were not ACC players. Maybe Buss was. They all made smart decisions and went to schools where they will play a larger role and still play real competitive basketball. I wish Buss and BJ best of luck this coming year as well as Kaleb wherever he ends up.
Buss couldn't hold a candle to KJ.

No, I didn't realize that. And I'm not a UConn backer per se - the thought of them adding to their trophies makes me nauseous - but people denying that these trophies exist and claiming that they are a bush league team is just fodder for their fans to snicker at us. I haven't been to the boneyard in probably a decade, and few of their posters come here at this point, at least openly. Why should they? We are in the more prestigious league but they have the championships four to one.

They are also 57-49 in their last 7 league seasons. They have been very average. Yes, good for them, they had two miracle runs. That is great for them. But don't confuse their overall blight. They have been a average program for a while. Do I wish we had two titles in that time? Of course. But the future and the present don't belong to them. not playing in that league. And they know it.

THAT is a valid point. Luck has been with them, but will it be in the future? Who knows? There were some decent teams in the AAC this year, and surprising ones like Tulsa. It's neither a P-5 league nor a mid major, just as the new Big East is. And the A-10.

UConn has another very good recruiting class coming in.

They'll need to keep that up.

Another thing to keep in mind about Kaleb is that while he was thrown to the wolves last year, he wasn't starting this year with Mali coming in. Who was he going to start over? G? No. TC? No. Mali? No. I can see why he struggled with confidence between last year and then this years realities.

He wouldn't have started, but he would have got more minutes, I think this was just too big for him, he isn't an Acc player.

What is this thing "newspaper" of which you speak?

Can you expand upon this? Do I have to go to SU to a fan? Is my fan-ness in direct proportion to the number of Orange tee shirts I own?

You are taking this out of the context of the discussion. This wasn't about "fan-ness". Instead it was about being able to grasp a nuanced logic path that dealt with the relative attractiveness of SU as a destination for a high-quality transfer student next year with or without Malichi.

It was in the same vein as your attempted response here.
