KingJoseph Edwards "not" in the portal

In the short term very few of these kids will ever get to the Pros to get big money. They have the choice of chasing a nice one time payout and hopefully get a degree or stay where they are and get the degree they started with. Its like winning a small lottery ticket I guess.

Fran understands this which is why he emphasizes his plan to make sure guys are employable when they graduate. I wonder how many other programs have similar programs. If guys are smart, they'll look into that rather than just chasing the short term payday.

The dudes that chased the money to be bench guys at tOSU and LSU that immediately got recruited over should be cautionary tales.
That's one way to look at it...

I imagine every other program has a "plan" that speaks to academics and employment. Who knows how many are serious about it. But I have no doubt they all have a pitch to recruits and transfers.

I wouldnt be shocked if hes back considering that Syracuse might not legally be able to designate him a DSA due to him being on Scholarship, so he wouldn't be able to use the current portal.

I know we all fell in love with KJE over the last year with his charity work and seemingly great attitude, but the feeling I'm getting is that he's just a talented kid that doesn't want to put the required amount of work in to be successful. Trying to coast along using talent alone in college won't get you far. Hope he figures it out

I wonder if it's a grade issue if that's the case.

More simply, he isn't part of the team now -- and hence won't be play this fall.

So, if he does come back, the earliest would be Spring 2026.

Not being on any roster your second season in college does not bode well for any career. You then have to wonder if he’s getting adequate S@C, development, etc.

Kind of like Zeed. I don’t believe he ended up anywhere either.

Just tough to take an entire semester + away from a program at this point of your development.

That's basically my theory is that the priorities that he was focused on weren't aligned with what HCFB wanted them to be. Hopefully things turn out well for him as he seems like a good kid.

Sometimes people want to focus too much on the more enjoyable/fulfilling extracurricular stuff and neglect the more mundane necessary stuff. Doing the charitable stuff is great and all, but when mom and dad stop footing the bill for food, clothes, and shelter, you've gotta be able to do that on your own. That may mean stepping back from the secondary stuff for now so you can focus on the primary stuff that permits the secondary stuff.
