No but he has that type of game. And as a 49er we have a lot of doubts about Purdy long term….
 
Not an insider and don’t know too much but this I do know. They applied for McCord to get another year. —-> This part is my thinking and no inside knowledge but I really think there’s at least a chance we get him back for his 5th year. Fran said in the presser yesterday something along the lines of Kyle will play till the NCAA tells him he can’t any longer. If I had to guess there bringing in quarterbacks but also telling them that they applied for a 5th year for Kyle.

and if and when that is announced, i may fall to my knees and cry tears of joy uncontrollably.

Why would Kyle get an additional year of eligibility? I don't understand what could be the reason. He was not medically redshirted unless there is something out there that I do not know. This is the first I have read that he might come back. Very confused:)

I don't think "My Poopy-headed coach at Ohio State played me in too many games" is a legit reason for a waiver.

Stranger things have happened.

If this was Alabama, the decision would have already come in in his favor.

If you heard Fran's presser yesterday I have no concerns he views SU as the ugly duckling. Fran and Nixon have earned some credit after the season we had to bring in who they want and trust that they are bringing in the right player (s).

Gotcha.
I don't disagree that some fans have developed some unreasonable expectations.
My only point was that I think Fran has raised the bar and there is a reasonable expectation that we, as fans, should expect to add some players who we wouldn't have access to in previous years.

I really do think that the fans need to trust in FB and the judgement of his staff.

I see it more as: some of the guys linked to SU via the portal aren't nearly in McCord's class as passers, which is a small cause for concern given how instrumental McCord's passing brilliance was to our team success this year.

We are likely never, ever, going to see a AB transfer with the capabilities on par with McCord again. But I think we need to pick a lane -- dual threat or great passer.
