Class of 2014 Kyron Watson

yep, unless something has significantly changed since Sunday we are very much alive

Do we know for sure that the in-home is still on? I'm assuming the in-home would either have been tonight or maybe tomorrow, right?

it was supposed to be Thursday. That will be the give away

Agree. If in-home is still on for
Thursday, then something's up. If KW is done with the process, wish him luck and move on.

Has he even take an official with Kansas? I'm not seeing one listed

Completely different circumstance. Gotta let it go.
Don't give the kid a second thought. It's the same in that the kid said he was still with Kansas and yet visited us and has an in house with us.

Well when the coaching staff is completely overhauled, it makes things quite a bit different.

If all we really lost is Zach Allen (who may never get a legit shot to play at TCU) for all the recruiting gains we have had in the past 12 months, any SU fan should be quite excited. I mean does anybody think Marrone and Co could have brought in this recruiting class if they were still here? I have serious doubts they could have. We lost one QB, and a great kid at that (others too, but not as touted as Zach) and gained so much more, including 2 QBs, who could damn well be just as good or better than ZA anyways.

Malik was a tough blow as well. That being said, I like what this staff is doing. By the way, did he play as a frosh at Tenn?

No and he's been recruited over already. My prediction is rarely sees the field in his tenure. If so, so much for the golden checklist he and his family filled out predicting Tenn. was his best bet.

If in-home with us is off and we move on, do we get Demetrious Johnson to OV? My hunch is sleeper Victor Hughes would be up next and visiting on 1/31. Don't know very much about him, but I would think he's our first true B list option. Can't verify, but Johnson may have even more academic issues than Thomas, Rodney and Dowels. We need at least one more LB body on the depth chart next season.

Still not buying what Watson said, it was a quick message saying what he has been saying all along. I bet the in home happens and then the battle is on from there.

We can still hold out hope. If by chance there is some kind of silent verbal, what better way to keep old Charlie Weis at bay than to tell him no more OVs and he is still committed to KU. What you don't tell him is it is until Thursday, or better yet, 2/5. All wishful thinking on my part. We won't know until the scheduled in-home on Thursday is verified, one way or another.

I would never want a recruit to act that way...Stand up and be a man of your decisions.

I think in Watson's mind he is totally committed to KU. I don't think he has a silent verbal to us. Like I said, wishful thinking on my part. I do want to know if he would still be willing to meet with Shaf, so his family could have an opportunity to hear about the benefits of SU. That said, he may want this whole process over with and go with his gut feelings about KU. Can't blame a kid for that.

I for one think we are better off at QB this year then we have been since Mc Nabb and that we have a potential same type player on the team. As for Zach, he made his choice and good luck to him, we will be just fine without him. But as to the point many of you continue to bring to the forefront each and evrey time somebody has a comment about players such as Zach, I may be wrong here, but this is poster material to bring to a kid that is on the fence, IMO. Same goes for Ishaq, J. Jones and others. I think you read into people's comments to far in some cases, its not about what could have been with these players, its about using it to our advantage in teh game called recruiting. I think that is what the poster was trying to say here.

Lost Malik Brown, Gus Edwards, Laray Smith as well.

Staff has done a great job with this class, but the decommit that really hurt was Gus and not Zach Allen. With Gus, there isn't a problem with depth at RB.

Yep. Looking at the positions where we lost kids last year, we've recovered pretty nicely except for RB recruiting.

We will be fine at RB. When was the last time we haven't had a capable running back in the backfield?

Back when Paul Chiara was taking handoffs during the Gerg Era. *shudder*
All the more reason AAM needs to buckle down and get into shape and motivated. His jr year was wasted. He needs to step up his game and assume Smith's power back/ red zone role.
