Lebron James is a coward

The NBA is fixed. I know this because Tim Donaghy, plus Mark Cuban hired a PI right before they won the championship. Now let's talk about performance efficiency ratings for 10 pages.

BTW did you know Carmelo won a title for SU? And he donated a ton of cash for a bball facility! Therefore he is the greatest NBA player ever.

Not picking in you, and while you hit so many good ones, you forgot a bunch!

I don't think James is a coward per se and he is the most skilled player in the game today. He gives an air of being a coward because he defers to others late. That may be a fear of failing which I guess is about the same as being a coward. He also is not a choker. But I don't think he is clutch. In fact, while he is a better all around player than Melo, I'd rather have Melo in a tied game with 30 seconds to play.

And the facts (which we have been told mean nothing in this discussion) support your point:

Melo: .518

It's that easy.

But Lebron is a beast! Best defensive player in the league, some say.

At 6'8", 250 lbs, the best defensive player in the game can't give up a couple of inches and defend the opposition's 4?

Where were you when LeBron was6-11 from the field and 8-8 from the line?

In the 4th qtr.

And how many pts did Danny Grainger have?

I did say before this game I thought Miami had enough to get through the east, it's only one game and I don't want to read too much into it, but I'm not too sure about it now.

Without Bosh, Lebron and Wade have pretty much no margin for error. Lebron had an ok game, maybe a B game or so, but they probably need A- or A games from both he and Wade. (Who was god-awful tonight)

I'm not sure it matters. The best series is likely to be SA/OKC with or without Bosh on the Heat.

When did this happen?

And what does this have to do with James guarding a PF/C?

Mike Greenberg putting a Wade for Melo trade out there. Says hes getting alot of positive feedback. I would NOT do that trade as a Knick fan. Melo is young 28 while Wade looks an old 30. Its only 2 years and Wade has a couple more prime years left but Wade just looks old at times. Also can we stop calling Wade a top 5 player beyond a shadow of a doubt, I dont think he is. Its like a given that Wade is beyond reproach, doesnt get killed for his horrible game last night and is adored as top 5, when I dont believe he is anymore. Maybe Wade fits better if you cant trade Amare, but do you really want to gear your team towards Wade and Amare? You just got old pretty fast and like I said, I would honestly rather have Melo than Wade at this point. Also with LBJ playing the distributor role, a healthy Bosh and alpha dog closer Melo I agree with Greeny that they would have the Championship locked up.

Knicks would do that trade in a heartbeat. Melo isn't a winner and doesn't make his team better. Wade already carried a team to a championship and fits better with Chandler/Amare.

Melo is a "me-first" player who isn't a leader. Selfish! Wade has proven he can play with other stars and succeed (Shaq, Lebron, Bosh)

Well, Brian Windhorst (Miami Heat beat writer) just said he doesnt think theres anyway the Knicks would do that. Said Wade is considered by league GM's to be 30 going on 33. Has trouble playing too many games in a short period of time and has some nagging injuries. Hes lost explosion and has become chippy with the refs because he depends on calls now.

How has he succeeded with Lebron and Bosh? Their goal-win a Championship. They are lucky they are in the Eastern Conf and have an easy path to the Finals. So far...lost to Dallas last year in the Finals and are down 2-1 to Indiana in the 2nd round.

Never understood the love affair with Wade. He fades in and out of games as he pleases...lets Lebron carry the mail the entire game and then tries to turn it on in the last 5 minutes most nights. He is damaged goods...I would not want him on the Knicks for Melo.

I'd take Lebron for Melo though...can we make that happen?

I just went back and checked to make sure...he was actually 5-10 and 6-6 from the line. Game 1.

LeBron scored 32 points, grabbed 15 boards, had 5 assists, and 1 TO while guarding the other teams best player and holding him to 1-10 from the field.

Look I could give two dumps if the Heat win the championship. But some of the stuff that gets posted here is just ridiculous. When LeBron goes out and has a 4th quarter like he did in Game 1, nobody is posting.

Carried a team always seems like a bit of an exaggeration to me. He had Shaq. He also set every free throw record known to man in an NBA finals - he was kind of dragged by the officials while he was carrying. :) He was getting foul calls at a higher rate than Shaq in his prime - and they were fouling Shaq intentionally as a STRATEGY.

He was awesome in that series btw, but that game did more to make people think the NBA was fixed than anything else in NBA history. (I don't think it's fixed fwiw, but wow was that game 5 or 6 weird to watch)

Plus, he did all that in 2006, I doubt that has a huge bearing in evaluating what he has left in the tank in a deal for Melo. Not that it would ever happen. Plus, once he was Shaq-less, and pre-LeBron did he ever make it out of the first round?

I still think making the finals is succeeding with a team; understood it's not the ultimate success.

As for a potential Wade-Melo trade; first of all, I don't see that from Miami's standpoint at all. Lebron can play multiple positions, but he is a true 3, as is Melo.

From the Knicks standpoint; I think Wade is the better player, (and I still think he is easily one of the 5 best players in the league; he was brutal last night but his advanced metrics are great, he shoots a high percentage, he passes the eye test to me) but the key is of course the age thing. He seems to be a guy who relies heavily on his athleticism, and he just turned 30. That's of course not old, but he's taken a lot of hits over the years and even if he loses just a little off that athleticism he goes from a great player to something less. Melo should age much better than Wade, and he is already younger to begin with.

If Miami is going to trade Wade, don't you have to go to Orlando and ask for Dwight?

The amount of FT he shot in that series was staggering. He took 46 free throws in the last 2 games. 46!!!

Granger is in Lebrons head. I think when Lebron threw a slight elbow at Granger when Granger grabbed his jersey and Granger went right back at him was telling. Lebron just looked away and wanted no part of that. The Pacers are physical and tough and the refs are finally letting them play.

Either that or Lebron didn't want to get involved because he didn't wanna get T'd up like Granger? Can't really say for sure either way, of course.

So what, get a T. Lebron needs to man up. Granger has punked him now twice in this series. Hes clearly in his head. Lebron missed the technical and the bench was laughing at him, like seriously rolling on the ground laughing, friggin Lance Stephenson put up the choke sign haha. Lebron is getting punked by the Pacers and especially Granger who is nonstop in LBJ's grill.

Yes, I'm sure Lebron is very scared of Danny Granger. Granger is so imposing with those Hakim Warrick like arms...

Had not of that. No idea how the salaries line up (suspect close), but that's not a bad idea. That said, would Orlando rather have Wade or Bynum? My guess would be Bynum.

Yeah I don't know, you may be right, just saying, if you're Miami and you decide to trade Wade, you gotta go the biggest fish first.

Granger was 1-10 in game 1 and LeBron torched him for 32pts, 15 Rebs, 5 assists, 1 TO and 16 pts in the fourth quarter including 6-6 from the line.

All the LeBron-bashing aside, it seems like Miami has a few big things that are hurting them:

1) Instead of beating this Indiana team before the tip, it looks like the mental edge went to Indiana. Like they were the kid that stood up to the schoolyard bully.

2) As much as I hate saying this, losing Bosh has to hurt. He isn't worth a max contract, but his steadiness was really important. Now, with that said, if you have two top five players on the floor, you should win, period. But with three max contracts, you have to know you aren't going to have a lot of depth.

3) Frank Vogel's comment about flopping was genius. He put everyone on notice about the Heat's tactics (I don't necessarily think they flop more than other teams, but they do whine quite a bit more). Combined with Wade's petulance, I think the Heat aren't getting all the calls they usually expect to get.

4) I don't think Wade or LBJ give a crap what Spo says. However, with Spo being Riley's protege, I think there is a really sticky situation that is ongoing and when times get tough, it starts to show.
