Lebron James is a coward

Yes, I'm sure Lebron is very scared of Danny Granger. Granger is so imposing with those Hakim Warrick like arms...
He sure acts like hes scared. Twice now Lebron has thrown a weak elbow at Granger and Granger got in his face and Lebron basically says ref, ref tell him to stop!!!

Yeah I don't know, you may be right, just saying, if you're Miami and you decide to trade Wade, you gotta go the biggest fish first.

No doubt. Sry, I wasn't implying anything negative. And you absolutely look at both of those guys as options. Without question.

Hard to imagine trading Wade. After all, it is his team.

Granger was 1-10 in game 1 and LeBron torched him for 32pts, 15 Rebs, 5 assists, 1 TO and 16 pts in the fourth quarter including 6-6 from the line.

Ok cool, and then Game 2 and 3 happened.

3) Frank Vogel's comment about flopping was genius. He put everyone on notice about the Heat's tactics (I don't necessarily think they flop more than other teams, but they do whine quite a bit more). Combined with Wade's petulance, I think the Heat aren't getting all the calls they usually expect to get.

I said this before, this was a total Phil Jackson move by Vogel. Very shrewd. I also said it before, but I really hope the Pacers owners ate that fine.

And I do not think Lebron is intimidated by Granger; like 44 said, Lebron absolutely punked him in game 1.

The elbow he put up last night was after Granger was past him anyway, wasn't it? Very strange.

Brian Windhorst is saying they might trade Wade for smaller pieces because as us Knicks fans know, when you have 3 huge contracts you cant really get better after that.

Granger was 11-26 in those 2 games. They won, but I'm not seeing this epic punking or something.

If anyone on Indy is in their head it's probably Hibbert. Dude is controlling the paint.

And just so people remember why we hate the Heat:

"Arguably the best trio to ever play the game of basketball"
"Not 2, not 3, not 4, not 5, not 6, not 7..."

Im not saying Lebron is intimidated by Granger, hes probably not, but Lebron looks like hes getting punked on the court. They lost Bosh, more emphasis put on the LBJ and Wade and the Pacers are beating them up. Anytime Lebron flinches at Granger, Granger is back in his face and Lebron just turns to the ref. Perception is hes getting punked. LBJ needs to change that because when the Pacer bench is laughing at you and Lance Stephenson of all people is giving you the choke sign, its a problem.

Hmm, I wonder how that would work out. I think Miami's failing has been a part of thre front office in getting some depth. They hd some money to spend and they used it on Miller (not bad), Haslem (eh) and Anthony (double eh). The knciks did a much better job filling in around. If the Miami big 3 and the Knicks big 3 changed places, the Knicks would be heavy favorites to win it all I think.

Maybe Stephenson was just showing what he did to his girlfriend? (probably not cool)

Omg lol so ridiculous. It gets worse everytime you watch it.

I know you know basketball and watch more than most of the others who participate in this discussion, so I'm really not trying to sound like a dick. But is that really how you are seeing this series?

Game 1
Granger: 1-10 FG 4-4 FT 0 ORB 4 DREB 3 AST 7 PTS
LeBron: 12-26 FG 6-8 FT 6 ORB 9 DREB 5 AST 32 PTS

Game 2
Granger: 5-14 FG 1-2 FT 6 REB 11 PTS
LeBron: 10-22 FG 8-13 FT 9 REB 28 PTS

Game 3
Granger: 6-15 2-2 FT 7 REB 17 PTS
LeBron: 10-22 1-3 FT 7 REB 22 PTS

On the series Granger is 12-39 and has gotten to the line 8 times. LeBron is 32-70 and has got to the line 24 times (3X has much as Granger).

I don't think it was a malicious elbow regardless of when he threw it. I think he was just frustrated. For the faults I point out about LeBron, he usually can keep his cool. I think if it had caught Granger, then the refs may have had to call a flagrant, but if it were the 80s, that elbow wouldn't even be talked about.

With that said, I like that Granger got in his face.

Im talking purely perception. Obviously Granger wont match the best player in the NBA statistic wise or production wise but he doesnt have to because Indiana is a team, while Miami is (right now) a two man crew. However is you listen to talk of the series they are calling Lebron a clown, water cooler talk is that Lebron is getting punked and its by the Pacers and specifically Danny Granger who is making sure anytime Lebron flinches he will be there in his grill. LBJ has not shown he can be a tough guy and he might need to be to get past the Pacers.

Lebron did the same thing in the other game when Granger fouled him hard. Lebron put up some weird, weak elbow that had no intention of causing harm but still got Grangers attention, and right on cue Granger went at him and Lebron turned to the ref.

but essentially this whole punking thing comes down to Indiana won the last 2 games, right? If Miami was up 2-1 instead then I dont think anyone would be saying anything, even if all of the actions were exactly the same

just remembered the other elbow now ; from game 2. Both were very weird.

Also, I know by the rule it wasn't a clear path, but it seems like the play last night should be an intentional foul, right? Granger was making no play on the ball, he was clearly just grabbing Lebron to foul him. Obviously didn't matter one bit in terms of the outcome, but still.

I'm not sure I understand what you are talking about LI. What is Lebron supposed to do? Throw a punch to prove how manly he is?

Do you understand that players on other teams are told to try and bait guys like Lebron into arguments/shoving matches? This is the NBA playoffs. This stuff happens all the time.

So in year two, down 2-1 in the EC semis, with a player hurt, it's time to blow it up.

We really love instant analysis.

Get T'd up. Shove Granger off you. He wont get suspended for that. Dunk and then stare down the Pacers. In the flow of the game give somebody a subtle "whats up" elbow. Players do it all the time, Lebron does not. Just ask yourself how Kobe, Melo, Durant would react in LBJ situation. Ive seen all 3 of them go back at people. You cant just throw a weird elbow in the air and then cry to the ref. ESPN Firsttake has a whole segment on right now about Lebron needing to develop a backbone. Hes getting called out all over the place, especially in the hip hop world for getting punked right now.

Well if it's on ESPN first take, then he should pay attention.

He needs to win the series, period. If he gets T'd up, then those same people on first take would get on him for losing his cool.

I went out to get coffee and turned on my xm radio to HipHopNation and the DJ was asking people to go on her Twitter and respond to the question "Is Lebron getting punked". Rightly or wrongly its the perception right now.

If Skip Bayless and Stephen A Smith are talking about it...Lebron should certainly pay attention. Those guys have a lot of experience..

I understand that, but I think it's because they are down 2-1. I think the best way to make that discussion go away is to win this series, then the next one, then the one after that. It's a byproduct of them losing the last 2 games.

Youre probably right. Granger could slap Lebron in the face every possession but if Lebron keeps scoring and the Heat keep winning, hes not getting punked. However, Lebron hasnt played as well in Game 2 and 3, coincidentally games they lost in which Granger got in his grill. Can Lebron elevate his game with the Pacers constantly trash talking him and knocking him around?
