LeQuint Allen is Back

That sounds like they will reinstate him to finish his degree but are they going to honor his scholarship? Unless he is enrolled and making progress towards a degree he loses his eligibility which, to me, would indicate loss of scholarship.
I am guessing that is why LeQuint is saying that for him, a suspension is the same as explusion...

Syracuse University judicial affairs student board, when I was there, was staffed by academic overachievers who are terrified to appear soft on fellow students o they over-reach every time.

I had personal experience with it. My roommate was drinking in our dorm room my soph year. I wasn't in the room and hadnt been for hours. I think i had like 5 beers all of soph year (junior year was another story). But he was on my side because that is where our collective TV was (remember split doubles?). RA comes to the room. He says its mine. I come back to the room 8 hours later. Next thing you know, we are BOTH on probation for a year because that stupid student board just did what they do

It's a terrible terrible system

Also, these student boards are largely composed of students who are ardent rule followers.
This seems like an odd criticism, to me. Would you prefer hypocrites?

SU's disciplinary board members getting ready for the day..

And the kids who volunteer / want these gigs…are often power hungry and not normal. I’ll leave it at that. I know some of them. They’re not people I’d consider friends. It’s bizarre.

This is ridic.
For sure. I was an athlete in college I knew as soon as I walked into the room that these kids were going to screw me. The punishment I got was so far over the top I knew it was because they 19-21 year old kids had power and they wanted to use it.

But how the Dean doesn't step in here and over rule it tells you all you need to know about Syrachse Univ. Clown Syverud has already shown he doesn't care about sports. They are seriously affecting this kids life. I hope he embarrasses the university in court

This is the biggest jealousy case I’ve ever seen. This feels like a bunch of losers like the ncaa type that are jealous of the up and coming star RB and this their chance to hold all the power and feel like they can do something to get back at him. There are some serious people out there like this that are mad that they aren’t the star player and their life has taken them to sitting on a discipline board and now they have some power to do something big. This makes me so mad as a former athlete bc it happens a lot. People truly have it out for you in any way they can.

What’s next, Garret Shrader accidentally shoots an endangered owl while hunting and goes straight to jail?
Well, that would be a federal offense. He would probably get sent to gitmo, pending arraignment.

Sadly, that sounds familiar, saw many of those including violations of noise ordinance ,on South Campus, when the person wasn’t even there!

Wow.
Last season's 2-Deep = Sean Tucker/Q Allen
This season's 2-Deep = ?

For me, it was vandalism of a South Campus apartment that I moved out of days before it happened. My roommate's ex threw paint all over, defecated and urinated throughout our place.

The heat will be turned up to 10 today in wildhacks office. I assume some major donors will have his line ringing all day.
Hopefully some members of the BOT are football fans as well. Is McNabb still a trustee?

If he hasn’t have admitted he punched him…nothing probably happens to Lequint

Not a great message to send

Unfortunately this is how things go. When in doubt deny, deny, deny.

So what does everyone think the end result will be? I say the school never folds even in cases like this when they look awful. LaQuint is done here.

I’d prefer people with a grasp on reality not the type of 21 year old college student who feels the need to adjudicate his peers
I get your point, but I think criticizing them for not breaking the rules they are ruling on is misguided. They should certainly be held accountable for their decisions, however.
When I was going through my officer basic course in the Army, day one we were told to not break any rules. If we were to be handing out punishments to our troops, we needed to be beyond reproach. Obviously, there are numerous examples of officers failing this, but that should be the goal. That should be the goal for law enforcement, judges and politicians, too.

Shouldn’t judicial affairs be comprised of all walks of life representing the university? Should be equal representation on the board for athletes and non athletes. Professors, administrators, trustees, all departments including the AD and yes a few vetted students.

My memory is failing - how did it all resolve when Carter teed off on that kid who threw a snowball at him? Feel like the punishment was waaaay less than what they are giving Allen, even when it is so clearly a case of self defense rather than chasing down a dude who threw a snowball or what have you.
