So what does everyone think the end result will be? I say the school never folds even in cases like this when they look awful. LaQuint is done here.
I wasn't debating that point.Still a very different situation than someone who is right in your face in a tight room throwing multiple punches. Carter did actually have an opportunity to deescalate. Allen was defending himself as all of us would have in that situation.
Looks like we just found one member of the judicial board. Lol!
Oh yeah I know you were not.I wasn't debating that point.
Actually the entire system needs to be shut down, students who are not trained in law shouldn't be in position to suspend anyone. The players should shut it down. Fix this or we are out
the punishment way outweighs the crime. This is an injustice on its face.
So Allen should try all the friendly stuff that won’t work, miss a year of football, and potentially a crap ton of NIL money? NIL money could be life changing for him. If those college students never did anything presenting bias they have nothing to worry about. Otherwise, they absolutely should be doxxed and crushed online for trying to ruin a fellow college kids life. There are plenty of avenues to take (none that I think will likely work) that don't involve doxxing a college student like you're a 14 year old mad about getting worked in Call of Duty.
You mean the same lawyer that told him to plead guilty? His lawyers failed him.Why not? You haven’t seen people getting ‘canceled’ on social media?? My assumption is that his lawyers are already doing this. Should we not follow the lead of our top notch politicians??
This. It's not just an athlete problem. Unelected students have been giving extrajudicial authority over the entire student body. It's absurd. If you want students to do this, they should be from the College of Law; not someone who I sat next to in Econ 201.Actually the entire system needs to be shut down, students who are not trained in law shouldn't be in position to suspend anyone.
That was part of the DA's problem, their decisions have no basis in fairness.
That would be an interesting move by the players. I'm sure they could find some other social injustice tie ins that would make the school quiver above and beyond this (apparent) over reaction. The players should shut it down. Fix this or we are out

NIL money…..he should be pressing up “Free LeQuint” t-shirts as we speak. So Allen should try all the friendly stuff that won’t work, miss a year of football, and potentially a crap ton of NIL money? Been hearing about this since Billy Edelin.This. It's not just an athlete problem. Unelected students have been giving extrajudicial authority over the entire student body. It's absurd. Someone get FIRE on line 1.Actually the entire system needs to be shut down, students who are not trained in law shouldn't be in position to suspend anyone.

Without strong athletics Syracuse would be just another overpriced universityThe academic side of Syracuse University seems to loathe the athletic side of the university. They fail to see how strong athletics can benefit the academic side. It's really weird.
That would be an interesting move by the players. I'm sure they could find some other social injustice tie ins that would make the school quiver above and beyond this (apparent) over reaction.
It’s been like this for at least two decades. It took an athlete getting suspended for people here to care. It’s a bunch of 20 year old wannabe Supreme Court justices with heavy hands that have been ruining some people’s lives for decades regardless of facts.This. It's not just an athlete problem. Not being able to have legal representation should be justification to have the complete system shut down.Been hearing about this since Billy Edelin.
It seems hard to even believe. Do other schools do this?
If the AD gets involved they will not be advertising their involvement.Couple things to consider…
1. If the AD doesn’t get heavily involved in this, you better believe it will be used against SU in recruiting.
2. LeQuint’s HS head coach is SU’s new director of high school relations. He’s been the best hire of the off-season. How does he feel about his employer doing this to one of his HS players?
3. SU should look into the student board who created this penalty. There has been an “us vs them” mentality between students and athletes forever. This can’t be used to make an example out of another athlete.
You have some people who didn't attend SU so they didn't know, so I can't fault them. It’s been like this for at least two decades. It took an athlete getting suspended for people here to care. It’s a bunch of 20 year old wannabe Supreme Court justices with heavy hands that have been ruining some people’s lives for decades regardless of facts.
That has not always been the case, a number of sins have been overlooked to keep a player eligible!Syracuse has a long track record of turning away students for things that other schools take no issue with.
Anyone remember Colt Brennan?
I'll give you a real time example. Google Jayden DeLaura, QB for my son's school Arizona Wildcats. It was discovered a few weeks ago he had a sexual assault incident when he was in high school. There was a 5 minute outcry.
Then the story went away. And he is still the QB.
University even released a statement
I'm not making a value judgment on whether he should or shouldnt be. I'm merely saying most schools go above and beyond, often to a fault, to protect their student athletes. We are eager to use them as public examples.
