Looks like we could Doug Marrone as the next Tennessee Titans HC

Man people here are still salty over Marrone? It's been 3 years, get over it. The guy's a very good coach and I'm not surprised at all that most NFL teams want him.

Are you still good friends with all of the people who have broken up with you? ;)

Salty? No.

Amused (and sort of fascinated) by the media-induced hype that constantly surrounds such a mediocre coach? Yes.

Honestly I wasn't a huge Doug Marrone fan but he did nothing to deserve the level of scorn some have against him.

He left for an NFL job and the assistants that left with him shouldn't have been forced on his successor. The man wasn't great as HC but helped make us decent which after GRob was good.

He is going to get an NFL job this offseason. Stay out of the AFC East and Cleveland and Doug and got a chance to build a program in the NFL.

You guys never give poor Chip a break.

Oh Lord

But I'm still salty. That salt comes more from my Bills hat than my SU hat.

I'm not a fan of quitters. Which was why I had trouble viewing Mike Williams as an "SU grad" during his NFL time. Probably never rooted less for a former player.

If only for a year, I thought it was hilarious that Marrone ended up being an OL coach for a franchise with no fanbase. Only time heals the wounds he caused.

Is everyone who leaves a job and gets a new job a quitter? Why does everything need to be boiled down into one label? The guy coached 2 years there. He had an option in his contract that said if there was an ownership change, he could leave and collect his entire future check. The Bills agreed to it. You know what that means? It means both Marrone and the Bills agreed that was a possibility and that it was ok if Marrone left. If not, the Bills would not have agreed to it. Marrone exercised an option the Bills provided to him. He then got another job, albeit not his optimal one. Not sure how that is a quitter. If he left for another HC job, would he be a "quitter" or an opportunist?

how many times do we have to have this discussion??

quitting another job = good
quitting for no job = bad

marrone is a QUITTER

marrone is a QUITTER

Rex Ryan's replacement = 6 win improvement

Rex Ryan replacing = same wins total in contested games

So Doug = Rex, basically.

:)

Wouldn't have minded him coming to the Phins with Tannehill.

Not sure how many times it will take. He left a job and got $4M for leaving..in hopes of finding another HC job...instead he took an Asst. job. This was all agreed upon as an option by the Bills before Marrone took the Bills job.

hope: the word the church of rainbows and unicorns genuflect to.

so he smartly put an option to quit in his contract??

big whoop.

still makes him a QUITTER.

So you've never quit a job in your life?

So if my contract at work said, here is $4 mil to work your ass off for 12 months, or here is that same $4 mil to sit on your ass for 12 months, I think you would have to be pretty stupid to take option 1, especially when you consider the fact that he will have ample opportunity to get another job.

It is a mutually agreed upon $4 mil to do nothing. You say quitter like that is a bad thing!

You're making this too easy. You left it wide open, kinda like Millhouse's _____ after _____.
