Looks like we could Doug Marrone as the next Tennessee Titans HC

I think Doug Marrone is going to get the Miami Dolphins job. It seems like Parcells is helping Tannenbaum behind the scenes and Parcells likes Marrone.

Marrone has the same agent as Parcells that stuff matters.
Fingers crossed.

it would be fun. kickstart a rivalry that kinda sucks now. and no one actually watches the dolphins which is perfect for him

Every major NFL national reporter tonight is reporting Adam Gase to Dolphins is almost a done deal. Fins have interviewed everyone this week, but have ONLY scheduled a 2nd interview with Adam Gase and its tomorrow morning. Offer and acceptance expected to be made.

Marrone to Cleveland is my guess when all is said and done

Moneyball Marrone!

People - try to stay objective.
  • Marrone lifted us out of the ashes here at Syracuse. We're only upset that he told us we were his dream job and then left before he completed the turnaround.
  • Marrone makes some conservative calls on punts, but that's his style and it's defensible.
  • He did walk out on the Bills, making a financial killing but not showing the character in himself that he demanded of others.
  • He is an astute judge of talent and he knows how to turn rosters around. I believe EJ Manuel was forced on him, so that's not a strike against him.
  • He, like everyone else, needs a top-tier QB to win big. I think he just hasn't had the opportunity to work with a contender yet.
So, if he goes to Cleveland, who can they bring in to replace Johnny Football, for whom Marrone will have no patience?

He is a terrible judge of talent. He was a terrible recruiter at SU. On top of that he's proven to be a terrible person too. I expect he will not get a head coaching job this year or any year. If an NFL team hired him they ar making a mistake.

They have the 2nd pick of the draft so they will have their pick. Either Paxton Lynch or Jared Goff most likely

Sometimes the whole world seems terrible until you've had a Snickers bar.

Titans request permission to interview Marrone
Former Bills coach Doug Marrone was an assistant with the Jaguars this past season. The Titans also were denied permission for a GM interview with Vikings assistant GM George Paton, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter

If I had to guess today it looks like it will play out something like this...

Dolphins-Adam Gase
SF-Hue Jackson
Philly-Doug Pederson (outside shot for Coughlin who interviews with them this Monday night)
Cleveland--Doug Marrone
Titans--???? Haven't had one interview yet, makes me think its a spot for Chip Kelly when all is said and done
Tampa-Dirk Koetter
NY Giants----?? Maybe Ben McAdoo but honestly no idea they have been playing it close to the vest

Miami Herald reporting tonight Marrone came in 3rd on the Dolphins final list. He was #1 on Tannenbaum's list prior to all the interviews, but after the first round of interviews Gase was #1 and Dan Campbell was #2. Marrone was third.

Don't mince words, what do you think of Doug?

FWIW - I hadn't really heard anyone called a 'front-runner' for the Giants' job until today. Newsday said some believe Dougie is the front-runner in New York.
