Looks like we could Doug Marrone as the next Tennessee Titans HC

I said Tennessee based on the OP in this thread. I thought he would get the Titans job most likely but McDaniels may be the guy for that job.
post 423 you had him to the dolphins.

ill look for the hes going to the saints and the browns, posts later.

I have to think with each year that goes by, his chances get less and less of getting another shot. There is always the new hot ass't. The new hot college coach. And of course, other retreads. Oh, and TC took his name out of the philly search.

I don't have NFL sources with any ownerships. I base my opinions based on what I read. I thought the Dolphins and Browns were definitely possible. If Sean Payton had left NO I also thought he could have been a top candidate to replace him. When Payton said he was staying obviously he wasn't getting that job.

If DM doesn't get the Titans job I was wrong. I never afraid to admit when I am wrong. I get plenty wrong and don't claim otherwise.

getting fired > quitting

Coughlin didn't like the Philly QB situation and didn't want a bad fit. I think he realized he wouldn't win there.

I still think the Bengals should have popped Marvin Lewis and hired Coughlin but their owner is the cheapest owner in the NFL and won't spend the money to do it.

If more people listened to Bills fans when it came to Doug Marrone and not the Adam Schefter's and Jason LaConfora's and GoSU96's of the world, we'd all be a little more informed.

No, not this Bills fan...

So GoSU96, CuseOnly, xc84 and CousCuse post on the Giants' message board, too?

No idea. Just don't remember seeing "lock" - saw a lot of preening after a report or tweet or whatever.

That's just silly. Replace a coach who has gotten to the playoffs the last 5 years in one of the toughest divisions in football with one who hasn't gotten to the playoffs the last 5 years in one of the worst divisions in football? Yeah that makes sense. And please don't spout any nonsense about Coughlin would straighten out the Bengals because he's a disciplinarian. Last I remember he defended Beckham after one of the worst intentional cheap shots ever.

No he didn't.

Impossible. I was repeatedly told on here that he was a lock for multiple HC gigs. I'm sure he has a few offers and is deciding which 1 to grace with his presence. He will likely quit it in a year or so, but you need to have that job 1st.

OK FINE! YOU DON'T HAVE TO GIVE ME A $4M WALK AWAY CLAUSE!

make it 2m, where should I unpack my stuff.

LOCK

stern had him to Cleveland in this thread. There's like 4 other Marrone threads where his name was brandished about.

He's going to need to do more than just coach an OL.

His name is tarnished and now other owners know how poor he interviews, on top of quitting one of his chosen professions top gigs.

you aren't saying that Lewis is a better coach than Coughlin, are you? Because that would be ridiculous.

My point is all of or most of those "brandished" name droppings were attached to news reports or tweets. No one was saying lock.

I think he'll get another shot and interviews support that notion. If he were poison, there would be no interviews. But I honestly don't care either way.

Once in a while, you have to win one of those interviews, no?

Would any of you it'd Doug Marrone if you were an owner? He's left nothing but bad blood where ever he has been. On top of that he's terrible with the media. I just don't see him ever getting hired again

Yup. I remember when his name was first brought up as a candidate to replace Robinson. It was a faint name from the past that I had no real memory of other the name was familiar. I had no idea he was coaching with the Saints or what he'd been doing.for close to 20 years. At the time I thought, great an NFL OC and a former SU player. Didn't really care for his attitude or even his coaching style. And then he left and now I really don't care much about him again. He's an SU guy so I wish him well.

i think it's only going to get worse for him as more owners get to know the pegulas

As a Bengal season ticket holder I will be the first to admit Marvin Lewis should have been fired. I am sorry but he has taken this team as far as he can and unfortunately can't get them over the top. One and done in the playoffs is getting old. It's obvious he can't control his players after watching the epic meltdown Saturday night.

While our cheap owner has held on to M Lewis we have left 3 quality assistants walk who are now Head Coaches (Zimmer, Jay Gruden and Hue Jackson).

Meanwhile we are stuck in sports purgatory.

All pretty good coaches as well. I think Lewis is in the category of it just gets old after while. He's a good coach, just can't win in the playoffs. If you fire him, who do you hire is the question, not easy

Marvin Lewis is exactly what Mike Brown wants. He is the worst owner in the NFL he voted against the Rams stadium because he doesn't want the NFL revenues to up so much that he has to spend more on the salary cap. It is a joke. If you make more money then spending a little more shouldn't be a problem.

Brown just wants to be competitive and fillup his stadium to satisfy the lease requirements that he has because the city helped fund the stadium. Bengals fans deserve a new owner and new HC.

That was easy you promote Hue Jackson instead of letting him go to your division rival. Thats like the CUSE losing a coach to Boston College or Pitt, ugh!!
