Not odd at all if you knew...Can't blame the kid, was just odd how the staff handled him
Best of luck Luke
It's best for everyone he's gone

Sadly that’s what I heard. I don’t think there was a grand conspiracy theory. He wasn’t supposed to play this year.There you have it.
Not going to pile on, he just wasn't that good, best of luck to him at his new school.
Another vague post…love the portal takes;Not odd at all if you knew...

Read the tea leaves and be thankful we have such sources.Another vague post…love the portal takes;
“Knew it was coming”….”not surprised”…”if you only knew”.
For me it wasn’t that Luke wasn’t that good but how could he be worse than a lacrosse walk on or Rickie. Guess we will never know unless you’re in the Syracusefan.com cult.
And sometimes LSU doesn't.Sadly that’s what I heard. I don’t think there was a grand conspiracy theory. He wasn’t supposed to play this year.
If anything question why they recruited him in the first place. Sometimes the bigger schools in Texas know what they’re doing too.
99% of the board thinks that he couldn’t be worse than the other guys. I don’t know how many times it needs to be said but the plan was never for Luke to play this year. He was going to be redshirting it was his plan, his parents plan, and Fran’s plan. Usually when that’s the plan it’s for a reason. The kid wasn’t ready to play. Everyone just assumes 4 star Texas qb should be able to step right in and play. He played in a bottom tier league in Texas. Ask any of the WR on the team and 9 out of 10 times they all will tell you Filardi was flat out better than him. I’m not coming at you by any means just want to put this out there because this board has so many damn theories about this kid flat out he wasn’t good enough which is why he’s moving on.Another vague post…love the portal takes;

Good to know and glad we are moving alongNot odd at all if you knew...

It sounds like he wasn’t supposed to play this year and had an agreement with Fran about that when he was recruited. Why? Don’t know. Maybe he’s old school and wanted a redshirt year to get stronger and adjust to college.Another vague post…love the portal takes;

No cult we are just lucky to have some great folks on here that are well connect and can share what they can.Another vague post…love the portal takes;

OK, so, like, maybe, could it be, go with me here, could it maybe be, especially once we saw how Filardi played, is it at all possible, even just a little bit, that maybe, just maybe, THEY MADE AN INSANE DECISION THAT WAS JUST BAD AND DUMB AND THE FACT THAT THEY DID THAT IS MAYBE LESS A COMMENTARY ON CARNEY'S ABILITY AND MORE JUST AN ACKNOWLEDGEMENT THAT COACHES AREN'T PERFECT DECISION-MAKERS?They thought a walk-on lacrosse player was better. Tells you all you need to know.
Angeli got hurt, Collins sucked, AND Jakhari Williams was not ready to play AGAIN (injury it seems?).It sounds like he wasn’t supposed to play this year and had an agreement with Fran about that when he was recruited. Why? Don’t know. Maybe he’s old school and wanted a redshirt year to get stronger and adjust to college.
Should not have been a big deal. But then Angeli got hurt. Collins sucked. And Fran had to honor the agreement he had with Carney not to burn his RS. I think he went in the few series he did just to give a break to whatever QB was playing that day? Who knows.
Kids are on a one year deal. No HC should be agreeing to sit a kid on the roster when needed in non garbage time. At most if I need you then you play, best efforts to keep a redshirt.It sounds like he wasn’t supposed to play this year and had an agreement with Fran about that when he was recruited. Why? Not sure what point you are making, Carney was third string at best going in to the season. He was not expected to throw.If this all was true, than you would have Gill, and Cook in the transfer portal because they would have been p'd off that a year was wasted on their talents. They had to know that Luke couldn't throw the ball to them.
What good is a source if we have to read foliage? Words are better.Read the tea leaves and be thankful we have such sources.
If we didn't let Carney throw and our WRs thought he could they would have hit the portal BUT since they are staying it was clear they knew Carny was not the guyNot sure what point you are making, Carney was third string at best going in to the season. He was not expected to throw.
Be transparent. The cagey cloak and dagger stuff is what frustrates people.No cult we are just lucky to have some great folks on here that are well connect and can share what they can.
Be happy we have any left, I've seen a ton of great sources go because people always question them.
Just enjoy what we can get and if you don't like the poster ignore them, it's been a handy tool for me this year![]()
Did you not see Filardi's arm? lolPlease. He has a weak arm. Do you really think they wouldn’t let him throw if he could.
We had a generational QB putting up record passing numbers last season and the best we could do as far as a HS recruit was this?99% of the board thinks that he couldn’t be worse than the other guys. Sources of this kind don’t work that way. You’re not going to get someone “who is not authorized to speak on the matter” dumping precise detailed info. If that is what you are expecting, no dice. Ain’t gonna change nor should it.What good is a source if we have to read foliage? Words are better.
Then people are going to continue to be frustrated and dubious. That isnt going to change either.Sources of this kind don’t work that way. It’s cool but after Dan Mullen was on campus etc you can’t blame people.Read the tea leaves and be thankful we have such sources.
