Lydon to hire agent and enter NBA draft

I'm oddly ok with Howard/Washington at PG next year. Give Frank 30mpg and 10mpg to Washington. Then the following year, we'll have Senior Frank, Sophomore Washington and hopefully a stud freshman. Washington can play some 2 since Battle will be gone.

Unless the plan is to redshirt Howard Washington and grab a 5th YR PG. No need to burn a year from Washington if he'd be the 3rd PG.

As big as Battle and TT will next year - a big part of our success will be based on Frank

Its the 30min a game that you have Frank penciled in for that worries me not the 10min Washington plays. I am of the opinion that we absolutely need to have another PG option. I'm not saying Frank won't be a good player but I'm not sold on him being a good PG.

Yup but I don't believe the scores came back yet

Odd. If he tested Jan/Feb, I would wager folks already know his scores and where he stands.

Don't know the timeline (its been a while since high school lol), but I know it can take a while to get scores back.

i know preseason a lot of people here expected tyler lydon to be a wooden award finalist this year. ok that didn't happen no big deal. that's the top 15 players in the ncaa. (i'm not sure carmelo was on the list ).
but if as a sophmore you can't make at least 3rd team all conference you are not an elite talent imo.
why he didn't test the draft first yada yada $$$$$$ yada yada is open to debate. but i think we already know how this saga ends. good luck tyler whatever and wherever this decision lands you. (not the nba)

College production doesn't mean squat. Some guys are built for the NBA and some are built for college. If we went by your hypothesis Bonzie Colson would be a top 10 pick.

Adam Morrison?

I'm glad that DC said what he did. This program needs more of that. Besides Waiters, who left recently that you can look at and say "he's a pro"? Carter-Williams' stock rose due to the strong end of the year he had. Ennis' stock was propelled by the 25-0 start. Malachi had a nice run in the tournament which pushed him into the first round. Donte Greene didn't have any of the three which were previously mentioned, but left. Chris McCullough didn't play exceptionally well before he got hurt, but left anyway. Of the five mentioned, Carter-Williams has carved out a decent career for himself so far averaging 13, 5 and 5. The verdict is still out on Malachi. Ennis is positioned to join Greene at the end of the season.

What's the point of saying Syracuse has X 1st round picks, when these guys can't stick? It doesn't look good for the program overall because the opinion is that SU and Boeheim don't produce good pros. I'm going to take Coleman's word every day of the week as he not only played pro ball, but could have gone anywhere in the country and produced in the same manner he did at Cuse.

I think Mal and Lydon end up having decent careers. I would put money on them sticking around longer than McCullough/Greene/Ennis.

Those guys could stay all four years and still be in the same place they are now. Only with less money.

You're upset your favorite team gets worse by losing players and you try to justify it by judging their decisions. Just admit it.

So by that logic, Coleman is also upset?

The point is that other programs don't even get guys as far as we do.

And the easiest rebuttal is that many amount to nothing.

Harsh, but possibly true.

john wallace could have left early and had 1 more paycheck. do you think when he looks back now he'd put the $ over the memories.

The college/NBA landscape was much different 20 years ago.

You mean the number one pick who eventually filed for bankrupcy and has been known for speaking whatever is on his mind, regardless how "questionable", who played 25+ years ago when times were much different? Yeah, I do.

Syracuse, generally, recruits lengthy athletes to play the zone. These guys all have some degree of basketball skills that are marginally NBA-level. But it takes a lot of things to go right for them to be an NBA player: thus a seemingly high level of "busts".

The NBA is an arms race. They're all looking for competitive advantages. If they could sign LeBron's kid now, I guarantee one would do so. And all it takes is one.

If John Wallace played in this era he would have left after his freshman or sophomore year too.
i'm asking if you think he'd be richer for it. life ain't all about money. if you think so i feel bad for you.
