Anybody else catch this? Non-stop kinetic energy action. Best movie-going experience I've had in years.

Loved it. Art. Action. Awesome.

saw it yesterday . . . certainly spectacular and a fine cinematic experience, but I have no inclination to see it again, at least not right away.

For all the advances in SFX, sound, art & production design, I think both Road Warrior & Thunderdome are better movies. I don't include the original because that is a prologue to the others & isn't in quite the same genre.

for those of us who haven't yet seen it. how exactly does it tie into the original series ?

Are you asking if it fits in as a narrative? I'm asking because I hadn't been aware of a narrative, but would be interested to know if there was. I thought that there was no continuation from movie to movie.

It is technically a sequel, Tom Hardy is playing the same character as Mel Gibson, and there are references to the original and a few nods to the other two, but it feels more like a spiritual successor.

he is still driving his V8 Interceptor at the beginning, but not at the end, of Fury Road, so it must come between Road Warrior and Thunderdome
