You may want to recheck your sources.Football is only getting around 10-11. That’s the problem.
From what we saw of the spring depth chart, he wasn’t “starting”Who isn't currently a starter? Surely you aren't talking about Watson, right? He was literally our best returning defensive player.
Tank and ThomasHe wasn't projected to start?
John Wildhack said on the radio about a month ago that nearly all the revenue share money is going to football/MBB/WBB.At SU there’s alot more to where the rev share money gets distributed to. To think it only goes to the big 3 is incorrect.
Yea but the football roster is 100+ guys and hoops is what 12-15 guys.Isn't football like $15m of the $20m?
Cough cough Bellicheck ha. We're going to get a first hand experience Halloween October 31st.The thing is, Fran Brown came into the head coaching gig fully prepared that it was going to be this way… He’s no 25 year head coach comfortable and trapped in his own tradition. He’s the guy everybody else has to watch out for, and he signed up for exactly this.
The fact is, nobody heard of Watson when we flipped him from Kent State. So Fran either does what it takes to keep Watson, or he’ll go get another.
He’s not going to break from this horrible new Head Coaching situation, he’s going to thrive. He already has, compared to all the coaches going back to Pasqualoni.
He's going to think it'll go different for him because he's different, and that's going to matter.Cough cough Bellicheck ha. We're going to get a first hand experience Halloween October 31st.
A 75 year old hall of fame NFL coach who is used to having control of everything, contracts, Salary caps, etc. We'll see how long he lasts when he realizes that a player can just bounce on a whim and the school can do nothing except pay more.
Up against Fran a dude that's 30 years younger and like you said thrives in this craziness.
That’s not accurate based on the House settlement proposal…. That still legally has to count against your revenue share cap. Any new scholarship created counts against the $20.5M whether it’s Syracuse, Bama, etc. No school can go over that $20.5 cap. If they spend it with a check or a scholarship to kid 86, the number is the same.Just want to stick to the facts. Most schools are picking up the tab on the additional 20 roster spots. Football made the choice to cover what the administration decided not to. IMO the right thing to do.
No need to check. I’m putting reality out there so we don’t lose more players. The university is confusing the narrative, reality is we have set the football program up for a tough road by short changing them. Key point is, Basketball has no chance with its donor base so they need more university support!!! Do they have a NIL?You may want to recheck your sources.
And others may want to do a little investigation before accepting everything they read here.
Actually it’s a big 2 and 90% of the revenue share goes to those two sports. Women’s basketball gets the next most.At SU there’s alot more to where the rev share money gets distributed to. To think it only goes to the big 3 is incorrect.
Not disagreeing. Simply stating that the narrative you are spreading is false whether you choose to believe me or not.No need to check. I’m putting reality out there so we don’t lose more players. Right now the football NIL and Fran seem to get it, but starting off short will lead to what we’ve seen the last few weeks.
People can disagree and argue, say check sources etc…. Let’s see how next week goes.
Wow
No this shows what we knew when he committed here: the kid is a high end SEC talent(ie not just a Vandy SEC talent!). We can’t compete with this, most schools can’tYeah we’re not winning this

Big fan of the class of DL we have coming in too, hopefully a couple early contributors in that groupDepressing but I think Tank, Jobity and Dennis are in for big years if they can maintain health
I can’t believe you because you’re wrong. This narrative needs to take a life of its own here because it’s factual. Let’s sit back and see the movements next week. There will be some really good news, and news some won’t like. It’s modern day college athletics.
And to answer the response above from CNYGuy- proposed is the key word. It’s not in affect yet.
I trust in Fran and from what I see the football NIL group doing.
Sorry to be argumentative but to say football is only getting $10 - 11MM out of the $20.5MM revenue sharing pool because we are overfunding basketball is simply not true. Not sure where you got that information from or why you choose to believe it, but I can state with first hand knowledge that it is false. Certainly what we will devote from this channel to football is not enough to compete at the top tiers on its own but that’s where NIL and the collectives need to help bridge the gap.I can’t believe you because you’re wrong.
