But I would be ok with JB being fired. Would it be totally warranted? Probably not. But he came out boldly against the accusers, and now it's looking like that wasn't the smartest move.

I'm not saying I definitely think he should be fired. But I'm not saying I definitely think he should keep his job. I'm pretty much going to be ok with whatever the outcome of this is. I don't think I can see myself getting too worked up if they fire him.

I would be pretty pissed off. Yes he should have kept him mouth shut but given the facts that he had I have no problem with him saying what he said. Everyone is piling on playing MMQ with the new tape release and all making him look bad but given the facts he had, he did what he thought was right.

I understand that to an extent, but that is usually why it is recommended you don't say much in situations like this; because you don't know what's going to come out. (Granted, since this had previously been investigated, JB probably thought everything was out, but there you go).

And I can understand people who would get upset by a firing as well.

He's a hundred years old too. End of his career was coming soon anyway. He should just hang it up and spare them the need to fire him

The guy didn't run a tight ship. Got us lots of players and undoes him in the end.

Yes you are crazy.

But I'll defend your right to post your opinion until I'm the last man standing.

If Boeheim gets the boot because SU is being raked over the coals by Craig Carton, Gregg Doyel and people of that ilk, I won't like it. These guys have dead air and blank web pages to fill and just want to adopt an extreme position to try to rise above the white noise.

SU should not be listening to them.

Of course, Boeheim shoots off his mouth too much. That's not a desirable trait, but I don't think that's a reason to get rid of him.

I'll be devastated and sad for JB, but even before this I was excited to see what direction Hop would take.

I can accept that maybe I am crazy here. And I'm not trying to push my POV on anyone. I'm just trying to think what my reaction would be if JB is shown the door. Maybe it's because I want to see what Hop can do. Maybe not, I can't really put my finger on it.

Here's the thing. Are we sure Hopkins will be retained if Boeheim is let go? He might be made interim coach this season, but the university may decide to completely clean house at the end of the year, whether Hopkins knew about anything or not.

Also, even if Hopkins is cleared completely and his reputation is somehow not sullied, does he even want to stick around to try to clean this mess up?

It seems Hop is safe for now.

As far as the second part, he's stepping into a situation with a team he largely recruited that is set for this year and next. Even if he doesn't, we can get any coach in the country in that situation.

Maybe it'll be Autry or Gmac...I shudder to think. Or maybe we go the Pete Rose player/coach route and go with Scoop. Twice as many "Scooooop" chants during the pre-game intros. Starting at Guard, and also Interim head coach, Scoop Jardine. 'Scooooooooop!!!!!'. I would love to see how he would handle the guard rotation.

I would sign up for this deal in a second.

You have got you kidding me. This board has turned in to gossip board. How is Bernie Fines fate tied to Jim? Those calling for JB’s head should be ashamed bottom line. Facts are facts. Is it embarrassed yes, black eye for program, yes? Now back to basketball .Sick of this shi*t

It's a different climate right now. This will be headline news all season and the media will ensure JB is fired.

If JB is Fired their's gonna be a lot of New Crunch Fans or a New 6'5" or under :eek: Basketball League will come to town

And Cantor is the Queen of Political Correctness

Couldn't agree more. And, maybe a lot here are forgetting that after his initial comments, he stated last week at the Preseason NIT, that if and when the facts change, then he will reassess his opinion and take it under advisement. A lot of people are reacting with complete paranoia...which will destroy ya...

- Jan 22, 2002- Date Tomaselli alleges first abuse happened in hotel room

- 2002- Zach Tomaselli tells police of abuse in Pittsburgh hotel room
- 2002- year Davis' girlfriend, Danielle Roach, states she called the police to report the abuse. States her call was not returned.
- Feb 1, 2003- Date Tomaselli now alleges Bernie Fine asked him to sleep in the same bed with him (with Laurie present)
- 2003- Syracuse Post-Standard investigated the report. Nothing found.
- 2003- Tape made, given to ESPN OTL
- 2005- Davis tells Syracuse University about abuse, explains he already told police, and names 4 other victims who would corroborate (none did so).
- 2005- Syracuse conducts investigation (finds no evidence of wrong doing)
- Nov 17, 2011- ESPN first reports on Fine accusations.

- Nov. 27, 2011- ESPN releases content of tapes in report.
- Nov. 27, 2011- Bernie Fine fired by Syracuse University.

Now tell me again why JB should go?

Boeheim should not be fired and I will be sick to my stomach if he is. If Penn State never happened noone would ever call for Boeheim's head. Just like everything else in this country the "PC" crowd doesnt know when to let it go.

DUDE... you are a knicks fan. Noone cares really what an NBA fan has to say. The fact that you are entertained by what the NBA has to offer is scary.

Extremely solid point.
