Maybe our offense is fine

Lamson is a great fit for SUs O. I also Like Morgan we are set at QB for a minimum of 3 years
O I agree but there developmental players

Not sure its any worse than watching what we see in

OK
Iowa
Clemson
MSU
WISC
TAM
MICH
KSU

All teams people seem to think are top 25 worthy.
We are 95th per play against fbs

Obviously he didn’t say that duh but that’s how it’s exactly played out
The fans indicated that a million times more than Dino did. I know you're wrong because we recruited Amie the very next cycle. Us missing on other guys had nothing to do with Dino promising TD was the starter. It had way more to do with a screw up when hiring Lewis's replacement as QB coach. Then our lack of success gives no reason for high profile guys to look at us. When Gilbert showed up we got Lamson shortly thereafter, and he seems like the level of guy we should expect right now. Hopefully, he's the real deal and hopefully we keep trying to recruit over him.

Ay I’m fine with that but only time will tell, i was very hopeful amie was going to be the next guy and I feel he was the player we would’ve been far more successful with, it’s to bad how it all worked out. I do feel this program and historically we are better with a dual threat qb

We have 3 other scholarship qbs and another walk on. If none of them can get on the field with what's in front of them right now, I'm not encouraged.

I won't draw that conclusion about Lamson until he has a chance to redshirt. Morgan not being able to beat out Shrader makes me think he won't ever be an answer.

Now breakdown Schrader.

Shrader's "big" stats in SEC games were all when they were already getting BLOWN OUT.

So, his #'s likely put up against 2nd stringers, when the outcome of the game had already been long decided.

He averaged about 9 for 15 for a little over 100 yards passing over his 10 games played.
And again - A LOT of that stat accumulation was in garbage time in blowout losses.

He's a homeless-man's Tebow right now.
We need him to improve to at least being a poor-man's Dungey -
IF we don't want to see nothing but 8-9 man boxes against us the entire rest of the way.

How much is the team and how much the OC? Frankly, I was mystified by the hire. With such an underwhelming resume I couldn't help but wonder if we just couldn't hire a proven entity. So far, he hasn't done much to change my perception.

We all thought the play calling was early season vanilla but there was no reason not to open up against Liberty, especially in the second half when the plan got stale. Perhaps there is just no there there. If things don't change, all the talent in the world won't fix it. Unimaginative predictable and unadaptable doesn't score enough points.

Forget Albany, the offensive scheme (if we can call it that) is anemic and won't cut it in conference play. I hope there is something special about to be unveiled and I have a hearty meal of crow but I don’t see it on Gilbert's menu yet.

Im not sold on Gilbert yet but he beat Liberty with a kid who hasn't played QB in 2 years. Job well done.

Easy to say that but the defense won that game. That and a bone headed decision by Freeze.

Last week Dino cleaned up the penalties, let’s hope this week he works on stretching the field, even if it’s some quick darts on slant routes to keep the D honest. Either way, I’m pretty sure GS is our guy at this point. We can build a scheme around him.

I agree but for the most part he called a good game.

Well, half a game. Not a good second half after the first drive. Very concerned.
We beat a superior opponent by playing to our strengths. If we dont have 6 blown snaps and a timing issue on the first play we blow them out.
I expect a similar game plan against FSU. Control the ball. Play field position and don't give up the long ball and we win. I think that we are going to see a few more passes but not many.

I thought the game plan coming in was strong… I really liked what they were doing. Keep the ball out of Willis’ hands and play to our strengths.

Turtling through the end of the 3rd and 4th put a scare into a game I thought we could’ve handled. But, there was at least 2/3 3rd and very short downs we should’ve converted later that we didn’t too.

For my taste, we could’ve been a little more aggressive later in the game, but we still did win.

I’m willing to be a bit more patient to see what we do next as we are 3-1.

IMO we seem to be good at developing game plans and leaving something to be desired as far as in game adjustments. But I don’t know that because I don’t know exactly what they’re trying to accomplish when they meet at the break.

We could always just run the triple option like Navy does, but with much higher talent.

The defense played very well, but to put the entire win on the defense isn't accurate. The offense scored 21 points on their own and the defense gave up a long drive before coming up with 4 stout plays at the end.
It was a team win.

Anybody remember Pat White and Steve Slayton at West Virginia? Misdirection all over. Was hard watching on TV to see where the ball was going.
