Kyle McCord to NFL Draft

Richmond getting our hopes down so everyone can be suprised when he comes back
I could easily make the case he should be the fourth QB chosen. CBS has him as the 7th best now and Beck is now off the board. So that means he's sixth...and some of the others may not go either.

He could easily move up past a few of these guys and be a third round pick at worst.

It still comes down to value. if you have a QB as a 5th rd grade and the QBs ahead of him are gone do you jump him to 3rd rd because others are gone?

and why is Beck coming back if teams have him as a 2-3 rd pick? He wants to move up more I guess.

he is all over the place as well in rankings Some top 5-6 some 10-12. some don't even list him which is really confusing

I think some of the rankings aren't that accurate at this point. You're seeing Kyle move up, which is presumably consistent with the feedback he's getting. And others will drop.

Blah, blah, blah, blah. Too many pages now. Just hoping for one thing.

Note to who's ever in charge of any of this to any degree: Let's find a way to have Mr. McCord back for another year and give the program and its long suffering fans another stellar year.

To Fran...Unsheath the Camden Lightsaber and make it happen.

To NCAA...Please allow Kyle a 6th year. Kyle is a really nice boy even though he enjoys gangsta rap more than his cherubic face would indicate. Make it so.

To Kyle...You'd be happier and derive more satisfaction as a demi-God playing in Syracuse w/your NJ brethren, than the cold, hard expectations of that brutish professional league that beckons. Money, shmoney.

To Jennifer Love Hewitt...I will always have your best interests at heart, in spite of that stupid restraining order.

Yeah the bowl performance has really turned heads for McCord

He’s an impressive player

He has a chance to go to the NFL

Going to be really hard to turn that down

Hopefully we get an answer soon

I think we are all missing an important factor. Whether he's the 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th QB taken, the question is when will that pick be? This draft is loaded with other positions that will push down the need for a backup QB. Just because Qb's in front of him decide to return to college doesnt guarantee Kyle will get drafted any sooner. The players ahead of him graded out higher and are coming back for a reason- perhaps they were told they wouldn't be picked as high as they were hoping. I think he is at best late 3rd to 4th round pick but realistically late 4th to 5th.

Next year's draft class will be more competitive at QB but he has the ability to pass some guys with a good season. Money wise it is smarter to come back.

I actually think next years qb class will be even weaker.

Allar, Beck, Nussmeier.

If I’m McCord and I get the extra year I’m coming back solely to be in next years class.
Maybe Nico, Klubnik and ASU guy take a couple steps.

I don't get the Milroe hype, at all.

Cam Ward & Sanders, sure.

Ewers = not overly impressed.

Beck = injured. worth the gamble??

Dart = legit, but he's apparently trying appeal for another year?

So, they have Kyle as basically late 3rd round / early 4th range.
Does he gamble that that's his floor, or what if it's his ceiling??

Not an easy decision to make. Either way.

Yeah, obviously McCord has shown that isn't true. However, let's not overreact. Kyle is an ELITE passer and it may be years before we get this kind of talent behind center again. I would STILL say though, with a program like ours, we would do better (usually) with a dual threat.
I'm not the one overreacting.

For sure. Whatever he decides is ok with me. Not an easy call

Good luck Kyle -- hope he crushes it!!!

This decision ends what he called a “crazy ride” through college football that saw him go 22-4 as a starting quarterback at both Syracuse and Ohio State. He said he’s “forever indebted” to Syracuse for his time there and thanked his teammates, the staff and fans. McCord told ESPN: “With the way everything played itself out and what I’m hearing in terms of feedback at the draft, it just makes sense to go, after weighing all the options out.”

Good luck to Kyle.

Sure sounds like he got the feedback from the NFL that he was looking for, which hopefully means he's a 2nd or 3rd round pick. Will look good for Syracuse and definitely good for him. Hope he really gets a shot to be a starter at some point.

Unfortunately, it feels like next season is going to be really rough now with all the losses and the schedule.

really rough. This off season has been rough for us. No one wants to hear that but so far, that is the truth. 247 has our recruiting class in the 50's. A drop from the year before. Our portal guys have been a disappointment. At least to me. And now, we have had OG, Allen both leave with a year remaining (don't blame them but if they came back, would have been wonderful) and now McCord. With our schedule, if we can get 6 wins, and have a lot returning the following year, call that a win.
