Miami Postgame

I think the reason they don't want to fire him now is because it serves no real purpose. Do you see an ass't on the staff that you think, now there is an improvement? We have 11 games left plus the ACC tournament game. The time will pass fast enough.
Or, maybe just 11 games left. ;)

It’s going to be embarrassing for him and nobody will come to games. I expect constant “Fire Autry” chants from the few thousand people who do go the the games.

And in all likelihood the year may be a more painful finish than the football season had

I didn't say the word embarrassing once.

It wouldn’t have been simple. JB didn’t want to retire. His booster friends and allies on the board didn’t either. He’d literally still be coaching today if he had his way.
Ironically, I think he would have done a better job than Red.
A low bar to be sure.

The lack of toughness on this team is astonishing. Fifty fifty balls effort is a joke. George and JJ in particular just watch.
-our softness was evident in the rebounding, which ultimately was the key to the game. we really only have two guys who make any effort to rebound. And when Donnie and Kyle combine for eight boards, as they did today, we are cooked.
-ultimately the play of the game was the missed dunk when JJ, instead of giving the ball up to Anthony, made it into a more difficult play and missed the dunk. As soft as we are, we crumbled after that. 3-10 with awful d from JJ
-of course, our guards’ defense was a disaster. George’s statistics are misleading. He took a ton of shots and once again did not take care of the ball. More than anyone he was obliterated on defense. But it’s hard to believe that the great defense we saw against Houston in Vegas has simply disappeared. We gave up 85 to this team? This team that just scored 63 against Florida State of all teams?
-I have no idea why white was matched up late in the game against a guard who could go right by him and go to the basket. The press was an embarrassment.
-it was bad enough that we missed the analysis on George, but to think that we had to take Souare as well is depressing. What a horrific stint he submitted today.
-we have entered the territory where watching these games feels like an obligation/chore more than anything else.
We haven't been tough for years. JBs teams weren't diving for fifty-fifty balls either.

Your fan base has never been more upset, you owe them one. It cant get worse. It could only.get better.

I get that people want to blame Wildhack…but this is 1000% on the BOT. The problem at Syracuse has been for AT LEAST FORTY YEARS we have people on the board who think they are more qualified to run a college athletics department than our AD. We are fortunate Wildhack has stayed around to try to manage through a disaster of a structure at Syracuse. There’s a reason why Coyle peaced out so fast - some of it was wanting to get to the Midwest….a lot of it was him realizing Syracuse University is a dumpster fire.

No matter how bad you think Wildhack is - when he leaves I expect it will get much, much, much worse. Nobody with any other options is going to want to hop on and conduct this trainwreck of an organization - we’re going to long for the good ole days of the competence and professionalism of Gross.
Spot on

Inept interference, which emphasized personal relationships and nostalgia over common sense And far more important evaluative criteria when determining what the strategic direction of the program needed to be at that time.

They blew it.

I don’t know how any fan of SU sports can ever say something can’t get worse. It absolutely can get worse.

We could fire Red now and have half the team walk away from the program. We could lose every game from here on out. We could have parents going public for 6 weeks trashing the program.

It can ALWAYS get worse. That doesn’t mean it’s wrong to fire him now. It’s just means it can 100% get worse b

Nait George continues to disappoint. I thought he would be so much better. Our back court is really bad. But it pains me so because back in the day we had elite PG play and now we constantly suck at the most important position.

Oh yeah ... And please show Red the door. So sick of the walking zombie shuffle

I agree with you but what was Wildhacks qualification? His Sports Management degree and 20 years experience running Athletic Departments?

Nait George was mid last year and this year he is a little less than mid but not overly worse. He was never worth the money.

Yea it’s like 5 weeks at this point. We play every 3 days too most of which are on the road now anyway.

Syracuse Pitt finale will be the ultimate low for two coaches getting booed at the same time.

I always thought he was the key. He did not get better with better talent around him not that coaching helped him.

He just is the same player he was the last 2 years. Win a big game here or there and lose a lot of games. Not consistent enough.

Just think about how much He cost too. Next year is going to cost big money to get the dudes we need.

I know. You said it would serve no purpose. I’m saying it would save him more embarrassment and possibly get more people to games.
Dude. There isn’t going to be some fan re-awakening by firing Autry today. there’s like 4 home games left. ND Cal, Pitt! No one cares anymore. He’s gonna be canned fresh start next year.

I thought the difference between Carlos at point and George at point would be bigger than it has been.

He does not have a Sports Management Degree. He has a communications degree from Newhouse. The sports management program did not exist when he was at SU. Just clarifying the facts.
