I think it would be pretty cool to play Boise St in a 4 game series preferably for games in either September or October.
Maybe get Micron to sponsor?
I know I'd love to take in a game there.
I know people lolBeautiful place to visit would definitely be a cool series to setup. Micron as a sponsor even better. Set up a "kick off" like Chick FIL A does. Given Micron is now in both communities cool way to go about supporting both.
It's probably even worse than my Las Cruces experience last month. Would be a really cool trip, though.Even though Boise's a pain in the butt to get to, even from SLC, I'd make my way up there for that.
We'd rock the all-Orange unis against the smurf turf and really make the ol' eye balls bleed.
Or a conference game…Nope. We aren't traveling 2500 miles for a game ever (unless it's a bowl).

IMO we should only travel West of the Mississippi, once a decade. And even then I only think we should play from a list of UCLA, Stanford, Arizona State, Colorado, Kansas, or UNLV (if a 2-1). I don't think any other games are beneficial for the program.
Weird. Why? Were you at the USC games 10-12 years ago? Syracuse had a nice contingent there.
Yes, I was there. Traveling across the country isn't good for the team, so that is why I said once a decade. Then we should be playing teams OOC that we can beat. Playing USC will make it harder for us to reach those 6 Ws both years we play them.
What about a half mile east of the Mississippi? (LSU 2017).SU games left of the Mississippi in the 2000s...
2012 Missouri W 31-27 (barely West)
2011 USC L 38-17
2010 Washington L 41-20
2007 Iowa L 35-0 (barely West)
2002 BYU L 42-21
So only 5 games over the last 25 years (dating back to 1997). Weird that we had 3 games from 2010-2012 and only 2 the rest of the time.
The Gross effect.SU games left of the Mississippi in the 2000s...
2012 Missouri W 31-27 (barely West)
2011 USC L 38-17
2010 Washington L 41-20
2007 Iowa L 35-0 (barely West)
2002 BYU L 42-21

Reducing it to playing in the Mountain and Pacific time zones we have played since the Coach Ben era (1974-2022 or 49 seasons):
2011 USC L 38-17
2010 Washington L 41-20
2002 BYU L 42-21
1977 Oregon State L 24-12
So 0-4 with no close games (1st three were all 21 point Ls). Looking at the future schedules 2024 has the only opening between now and 2026.So we can easily get to 53 seasons with just 4 games played.
Going back to the Mississippi...
1997 Oklahoma L 36-34
1996 Minnesota L 35-33
1993 Texas T 21-21
1987 Missouri W 24-13
1983 Nebraska L 63-7
1979 Kansas W 45-27
1976 Iowa L 41-3
1970 Houston L 42-15
1969 Kansas L 13-0
So since that UCLA W in 1967 we are 3-13-1 in games West of the Mississippi, with most of the games not even being close. Those 3 Ws were Missouri (2x) and Kansas. That is over 55 seasons.
We played at Minnesota in 2012, lost 17-10. Most of the times Syracuse played west of the Mississippi we had bad teams - but ‘93 Texas, ‘96 Minnesota, & ‘12 Minnesota make a case for generally avoiding those games due to travel fatigue.
Son lives in Boise. Went and visited the field and when the sun is shining it will give you a headache.I'm probably being ridiculous, but I can't watch Boise home games on TV for more than a few minutes at a time. There's something about that blue field that messes with my brain.
