well the win-loss record, for oneWhat could possibly go wrong if we hire hop?
what kinda job you thinking for him after (if) he gets let go from UW?The point I was disagreeing with was that he said, if Hop gets canned, he'll be looking for an assistant's job somewhere. Uh, no, not likely at all. That was my point.
I think he goes back to being an assistant. just not sure where. I think he stays on West Coast somewhere.what kinda job you thinking for him after (if) he gets let go from UW?
mid-major head coach? or what?
What makes anyone think that Oats would even be interested in leaving Bama?At this point in time, and up until JB gives up the throne, who is the better fit for Syracuse moving on from the JB era?
We do not need speculation into other HC’s in this thread. This is purely a constructive conversation surrounding the two mentioned HC’s.
JB will likely pick the next guy. He knows better than anyone what it takes to win here. He knows who has the chips to get the job done. He will pick the guy and Wildhack would be crazy to ignore his advice.
That’s really insane, honestly.JB will likely pick the next guy. He knows better than anyone what it takes to win here. He knows who has the chips to get the job done. He will pick the guy and Wildhack would be crazy to ignore his advice.
We missed the Oates train unfortunately.Been saying it since he was at Buffalo. Would love Oats to be our next coach. But I think Alabama would throw whatever he wanted at him, at this point to keep him and I don’t blame him. Great recruiter and great coach. He’s the perfect coach that knows exactly how to work the current college landscape whether people like it or not. He gets top high school recruits and top transfer to come to his program and he can coach. He’d be my 1a, b and c but don’t think it will happen anymore. Wish we could have gotten him before he left Buffalo. Think we would be in a MUCH better spot as a program right now and take that what you will. I know some people will agree and some will strongly disagree. But if Oats was the Cuse basketball coach the last 4 years we’d be feeling a lot better right now and I feel very strongly about that

Explain pleaseRecruiting at Alabama is much different from recruiting at Syracuse.
Why anyone would want Hop over Oats at this time is unthinkable, to me.At this point in time, and up until JB gives up the throne, who is the better fit for Syracuse moving on from the JB era?

Hopkins can’t coachI don't like Nate oats and don't want a fake tough Hurley clone as our head coach. I know last year they were a 2 seed and lost to an 11 in the same round as us. Is that his only tournament appearance there. Was he coaching buffalo when they lost by 20 to uk in round two.
Bama has more money than God but I think they would spend it on some trivial thing for football before basketball. However for the right reason they would throw it at Oats to keep him. Especially if he is more successful than Auburn.Been saying it since he was at Buffalo. Would love Oats to be our next coach. Start with academics. Much easier to get a prospect into Bama than SU--and keep him eligible after he arrives. Now, with NIL and the misuse of it by some colleges, the monetary advantages available at SEC schools will be tough to overcome.Explain please
Because it should be wayyyyy easier to do at Syracuse
The longer Hop coaches the more dirt will be thrown on his coffin. That ship is just about out of sight. Oats will soon take a huge blueblood job. So my answer is neither is realistic at all.
So a coaching legend who has won more than anyone isn’t the most qualified to pick the next coach? You think some hot shot AD from ESPN should pick? Sorry that’s insane. That’s really insane, honestly.
Sorry but I respectfully disagree. There is no one more qualified than JAB to pick the next coach. And if you honestly think it goes down any other way then I don’t know what to tell youWildhack would be crazy to follow that advice.
