NBA Thread 2020-21 Season

NHL redid their CBA so there is less need to rush back.
NBA doesn’t want to opt out of the CBA so they need as much of a season as they can get.
NBA lost about 2 billion last year from the year before they need as much revenue as they can get.

NHL Owners asked the players early this week to re-open the CBA and asked them to take even larger escrow hits (which is basically a straight pay cut in this environment) and more salary deferral.

NHL owners are suffering much more than NBA owners by fans being locked out from buildings since it is a much more gate revenue driven league. From what I heard on radio here many owners have no appetite for a restart until they can get crowds closer to 50% capacity.

Lakers are emerging as a suitor for Bogdan Bogdanovic according to The Athletic. The small market outcry is going to be insane if this is how it plays out lol
Ariza and what other salary would go to Sacramento?

Kanter is a good offensive rebounder but I could guard better than him and I am not a world class athlete.

Ainge is using the trade of the 30th pick to get rid of 5 million in cap space.
Theis and if they get Myles Turner are enough for the middle.
Plus you can’t play Kanter when it matters.

Ariza is with Detroit. (I think?)

The lakers really don't have much they could send out to match Bogdanovic, maybe like a double sign and trade with KCP? But not sure that makes sense for either KCP or the Kings, really.

I meant Kuzma and typed Ariza.

The holdup in the Celtics-Pacers deal is Indiana wants Romeo Langford as well.
Boston doesn’t want to give him up without getting something else real back as well.
As Indiana can’t acquire Hayward without a sign and trade.
Hayward’s camp is floating the Knicks as leverage but Ainge isn’t giving in and throwing in Langford yet.

So that is the standoff.

The Lakers don’t have enough contract $ to send to the Kings. I think it would have to involve KCP in a sign and trade too and ostensibly a 3rd team as I see no reason the Kings would want KCP.

Walton does like Kuzma.

Boston-Detroit-Indiana could be the 3 team trade with Hayward and Boston gets Christian Wood in a S&T from Detroit that could pave the way for Ainge to include Langford in the deal.

Right, ok. But Kuzma doesn't even make a lot of money! Gonna be real tough, unless I'm missing a bunch.

Another point of Bogdanovic. He's restricted and he's pretty good. I guess you have a bit of an issue with Hield there, but I feel like the Kings should just keep him unless the contract is ridiculous?

Hang on, Boston would come out of it with both Turner and Wood?

Because if so, that's another Danny Ainge fleecing.

Could be Oladipo and Wood.

The deal is being held up by Ainge not including Romeo Langford for Turner and McDermott.

Turner and Oladipo / Warren for Hayward and Langford is something I am hearing Lots of chatter around

Keep the source in mind?
I am okay with losing Hayward for nothing.
If he wants to go to Indiana the Pacers have little leverage.
I don’t think Oladipo and Turner is happening but I think the article talking about Wood shows he is getting dealt to a contender.

Heat running it back. Gave Myers Leonard a 2 for 20 for some unknown reason. Unless these are year 2 team option deals they are saying they are out of the Giannis sweepstakes. Bam in line for a nice long term
extension.

Edit: Actual both contracts would fit a sign n trade in 2021 nicely too.

If Romeo Langford is the reason for a hold up on either side, someone is being an idiot
