NBA Thread 2021-22 Season

It’s not his fault he’s not Luka or Trae, but good grief.

Not even in the rotation for that squad?

I get not extending him, but this is an absolutely terrible long term decision and predictable coming from that front office. I read if he plays under 42 games his QO is cut in half.

But what do they even care about his QO? It doesn't seem like they have any intention of keeping him and they'd almost certainly get more in a trade for him now than they would as a sign-and-trade in the offseason.

I’m still mad that Nike changed our home uni’s from gold/yellow to highlighter yellow.

Zero idea. Seems like they should have traded him last year though.

Steve Kerr: “We’re kinda walking when we lose the ball, so run back and don’t give them anything easy ok? And on offense just take care of the ball and we’ll be fine.”

Man, b-ball might be the one sport where in game coaching is easier at the pro level than at lower levels.

We will see how healthy they can stay but even with a sloppy half LA looks pretty good.

So depending on how Lebron finishes tonight .. espn will have some lively taking head debates as to who is in the lead for MVP .. Lebron or Giannis.

Why was Brooklyn the favourite tonight at Milwaukee?

Not that I am betting the NBA right now, but it just came up in a $10 free bet offer from my site (on any of today's games), so I didn't waste the bet and just picked them quickly when I saw they were +105.

Lakers fans .. I feel for you .. as a Rockets fan I can tell you that Westbrook will kill you .. if you didn’t already know .. he’s great when you suck and you need a 1 man show .. when you are good and have actual players .. he is a murderer

“The rumors of AD’s demise were greatly exaggerated...”

Somebody will use that line. Probably Steven A.

He has played horrible tonight, not gonna freak out about it in game 1 though.

Just warning you.. he’s going to make you worse not better .. he makes bad players better.. good players worse… lakers have very good players … thus they are worse off for having him

Forgive me for my post regarding Espns MVP analysis following tonight’s games. Clearly curry is the early lead for MVP .. please forgive me for this omission

ESPN .. stop shoving the WNBA down my throat .. season is over and I still have to deal with this ?

Kings FO has made some blunders but the current Bagley drama isn't one of them. Bagley has been garbage for 3 seasons and continued to cause drama throughout. Liking tweets saying he needs to be traded, having his dad trash the organization and coaches and then "no commenting" when asked to respond, standing outside the huddle and not supporting his teammates when being benched, etc. Vlade fired a coach just cause he wasn't playing Bagley (the biggest defensive liability on the team) enough minutes. Kings tried to trade him for late first rounders throughout last year along with Saddiq Bey and a couple others. Nobody wanted him. The team is trying to improve on the defensive side after posting the worst defense in NBA history so it makes sense to bench the worst defender on the team. If the Kings start out the season flat, then you give Bagley some minutes and see if he shows any flashes but he's had 3 seasons to prove himself and has been a diva, pouting on the bench, getting burned on defense and missing layups.

Bagley, Parker, Okafor … that is a lot of top 3 draft duds from Duke.

He's a bust. And it sucks for him that he'll forever be the dude drafter over Luka and has been snake bitten from an injury perspective but he's made it very hard to cheer for him. All he had to say last year was "my dad doesn't speak for me" but decided to let it ride.

I feel like Skip Bayless or something with this take...
but westbrook feels totally out of place on the Lakers. Honestly, he needs to play like 6 man microwave role if they want it to work, imo

I think, at least to start the season, Russ's value will come from soaking up a ton of minutes when AD/Lebron are on the bench/hurt with mediocre efficiency and giving them a floor. And then ideally (from a laker POV, idgaf) he will be able to mold his game to fit in with AD/Lebron for the playoffs

Parker was better than the other two but had a serious injury .. justice winslow has been meh As well
