NBA Thread 2021-22 Season

This is filthy.

OKC owns the Lakers. :)

It's hilarious that OKC managed two monster comebacks against the Lakers. Also happy OKC came out on the good end of a hilariously dumb shot like that after Dame did it to them in the playoffs.

LOL at Westbrook chucking up that sht shot after Melo just had got them close the previous possession. He was going to try and be the hero the entire time. Nice press conference after too.

The Westbrook move was just stupid. Assuming Dame was too pricy or didn't want to leave. I know Bron reached out per a couple different articles.

Melo is freaking balling this year and Lebron looks in great shape too.. gonna waste it with garbage play from some of the others.

I'm no Lakers fan but a ring for Melo is only right yet so far meh.

LeBron played against one of his son’s former high school teammates, Ziaire Williams, when the Lakers played Memphis recently. He then played against another kid, Cleveland big man Evan Mobley, who played against LBJ Jr. a year or two ago in high school.

Now, DWade’s son, Zaire, made his pro debut tonight in the G-League.

My point: damn, time is flyin’. Bigly.

Yet they beat Houston by 1 despite all that and Houston had 24 TO and shot pathetically …then tonight they lost AGAIN.. to the vaunted Thunder ..
It’s November….

If they’re struggling like this in January, I’ll worry. Ariza, Nunn, and THT haven’t played yet. They haven’t found their rotation yet.

I love the Wilson Evolution. But it needs to be used for a few weeks before it doesn’t feel like a brick in your hand.
Basketball more than any other sport is really about the feel of the ball. I always like a ball that is a little less than fully inflated and soft on the fingertips. The really hard balls are more difficult to get a good feel for.

That’s why I like the evolution. After it gets broken in, it can be fully inflated and still feel soft. And the grooves are deep enough to really make the ball spin.

Which brings up an interesting point. We know football had the Inflategate issue and, I believe, home and away each has their own footballs which they can set up within parameters.

Baseballs has had issues with raising and lowering seams on the ball which can impact feel and number of dingers hit. Pitchers can also take a ball out of play if they don't like the feel of the ball.

Golfers each have their own golf ball which they have selected based on optimum distance/spin. Bowlers obviously have their own ball to their specs.

I would assume the NBA rolls out a new ball for each game although I am not certain. I would guess, without looking it up, the NBA ball must be a certain weight or a small variance.

College is probably different in that they probably reuse the same ball for more than one game. I believe they could use different models as well. Didn't Syracuse use "the Rock"? Is that ball still around?

I guess that leaves hockey as the only sport that hasn't had an issue. Although with sticks being so much lighter and more durable, did hockey ever modify the puck? It would awesome to know that the small vulcanized piece of rubber is the same puck that was used 100 years ago during the original six.

I couldn't imagine basketball using the same old slippery leather ball that was used back in the early days.

Horton-Tucker had stitches removed from thumb, is back to shooting in practice. I’m geeked about him getting back on the floor.

“The Rock” is actually too padded for my liking.

At minimum he needs to take Bazemore’s time.

And maybe sit Russ down a little more when he’s spazzing.
