NBA Thread 2021-22 Season

I mean, those 3 could work... if the other two guys on the court were some ultra athletic wing/guard defenders who can shoot. Davis has to be the center though.

Hopefully Ariza will help.

As should Ellington. But to your point AD needs to play the 5.

At one point the points in the paint were 46-8. I don’t think I’ve seen something like that ever. With the Lakers size, it makes it even more impossible.

Davis has played so soft tonight. Perimeter defense is nonexistant. Lost Caruso and KCP and Russ and Rondo haven’t played defense in 10 years.

Hot take: Sacramento Kings will make the playoffs this year.
Hope you're right! We went to the opener against the Jazz tonight. Davion Mitchell is the real deal, hated the pick at the time but he us quickly winning over everyone. Encouraging loss with fox having a poor game and Holmes struggling. Montell Jordan performed at halftime (this is how we do it) and ultimately a fun opening night. Gonna skip the warriors game Sunday and watch on TV but am definitely looking forward to the season.

Maintaining the intensity for 82 games is asking a lot but they really threw Utah off it's game. They reminded me of a Rick Pitino coached team. Lots of body checking, grabbing, double teaming. Ultimately the better team won but not all of the NBA has the talent of the Jazz.

Quiet thread today with it being college football Saturday, so here’s this:

Knicks: Best team in the east? Time to have the conversation I think

By those standards, Grant Hill, Chris Webber, and Penny Hardaway should probably be on it, and Tracy McGrady definitely should.

It’s hard to do these things. Do you go “best career”? “Best peak”? Try to kinda combine both? It’s tough.
I really don’t care what criteria voters used as long as they were consistent within their own systems. Don’t pick one guy cause he had a great albeit short peak but then knock another guy because he didn’t do it long enough.. .. the one thing I do disagree with is overvaluing certain players because they were on historically important teams… yet weren’t the primary or even secondary reason those teams were historic ..Rodman shouldn’t be on there .. he basically was a specialist

Let's wait until Thursday...

Bulls.

P.S.
I've said this before. Bulls likely aren't there yet, but they are going to be a lot of fun to watch this year, especially offensively. Their defense will be better than the 'experts' say too.

Ball and Caruso are huge additions, defensively. I agree, they could surprise.

Agreed.

Liked this AC quote from last night...
Alex Caruso on his, and the Bulls', defensive mindset: "Just try to be a pest, blow up plays. Get deflections. Anything to start the break. Because when we’re in transition, you all have seen: We’re really lethal. We got a lot of options."

I thought it was a little odd the Lakers essentially picked THT over Caruso. THT is younger, so I kinda see that, but the Lakers aren't exactly playing for the future here...

I guess it depends on just how high they think THT’s ceiling is.

Why can't I put Ben Simmons on my Injured List on my Yahoo Team? Is his mental health not a valid injury?

Or is Yahoo also skeptical (like many) about Ben's injury claims?

I want to know how I was wrecking Kaiser all week and in like the last hour he flipped our matchup.

Thought for sure there was no way I'd get caught on rebounds and assists, yet here we are.
