Jazz will be in a similar situation tomorrow night at Toronto. Lots of guys sitting or in protocol. What I read a few days was incorrect. There is no "5 roster player" rule. Just 8 players. But they had covid issues on the trip to Chicago with 2 roster players and at least 1 replacement player at the time so they could not field 8 once they arrived.
The Raptors are playing tonight in Cleveland with 4 roster players + 4 G-League guys, and not surprisingly getting their butts kicked down by 34 in the 3rd.
Here are the 4 roster players they have
Delano Banton
Svi Myhakluik
Chris Boucher
Yuta Watanabe
The top 6 players on the team are out. Was surprised the Cavs were only -8.5 at home since they have no replacement players on the floor and are playing with Markannen, Love, Garland, and Rubio.

Interesting discussion by the Inside the NBA guys last night regarding Zion and his weight
Can you imagine the backlash if people spoke like this about a female athlete ?
He scored more than a third of his career NBA points tonight.Free Elijah!!!

Better than Antonio brown calling out Tom Brady’s friendship ? Or the theory that Brown didn’t realize there was a week 18 game and thus thought he had no shot at his bonus incentives .. so he quit ?Julius Randle telling all these entitled rich boy drunken Long Island clowns to “shut the efffff up” is one of my favorite things to happen in sports in awhile.
Lakers have won 4 straight - yes against 3 bad/mediocre teams and the Hawks(still not sure what to make of them). But sometimes that’s what it takes to get rolling. Thumped the Hawks last night. Malik Monk is on a roll. THT played really well. Will be interesting to see if Ariza can become a factor now that he’s playing. Things may be looking up.

Big test Sunday night against Memphis.
The small lineup with LeBron at center is working out pretty, pretty, pretty, pretty good so far. And Malik Monk — great pickup, along with Carmelo, Reaves (Alex who?), Bradley, Howard and, yes, Russ.
Having Ariza back is a positive, THT is playing well, Nunn should help — and then there’s AD.
And what LeBron is doing in his 19th season at the age of 37 is sick.
Took the word right outta my month.Oops.
That kid is a joy to watch. The best I ever heard Ja Morant described is the person said it's like seeing a phenom that doesn't actually understand what the limits are in their sport so they just keep trying more and more ludicrous things until they find something that isn't possible, but they never actually do.
Love watching Ja. Years from now, Zion Williamson may be the answer to the trivia question, “Who was drafted No. 1 ahead of Ja Morant?”That kid is a joy to watch.
On TBS and ESPN, they tend to only broadcast the perceived contenders when choosing games. Last year, Ja got to show more casual watchers his artistry.
We get all of his games here in St. Louis. Bally Regional Sports FTW.That kid is a joy to watch.
