They've played better without him.Miami nay have Taylor Herro & his 20 ppg ready for Denver.
Yeah I think that’s all true. Butler’s a better player but those guys had better seasons. DeRozan was a fringe MVP candidate that season I believe (which was kinda ridiculous in the moment but I digress).I thought he may have dual eligibility, giving him the out to make it at G or .
Obviously though you are right, he's great, but the guys you mentioned have been a step above. And the games played are also going to hold him back. But man the guy is really good. And when I look at it a little deeper, in the last few years the following guys have made 2nd team all NBA at : Derozan (22), Randle (21), and Siakam (20). Without litigating each of those years, I would say Butler is better than all of those guys while also acknowledging they probably had better cases in each of those seasons. (assuming that make sense)
But it wasn't! He was awesome and the Bulls relied on him so much.Yeah I think that’s all true. Butler’s a better player but those guys had better seasons. DeRozan was a fringe MVP candidate that season I believe (which was kinda ridiculous in the moment but I digress).
Do you work for the NBA, Disney/ABC, or any of the advertisers? If not why do you give a flip about the ratings?
An 8 seed that beat the 1 seed handily. You’re over the top as usual. As a 2 seed, they went down 0-3 to an 8 seed, and came back to win the next 3. Struggled against Atlanta, and barely scraped by the Sixers (another soft squad). I said that the team wasn’t going to win before the playoffs started, and I think anyone who watched them regularly knew that, whether or not they wanted to admit it.

You putting money down on Miami to beat Denver? After all, they did best the 1 seed handily….An 8 seed that beat the 1 seed handily. You’re over the top as usual.
If the Heat win it all, I was trying to think of other examples in NBA history of a team winning a title without say a Top 40-50 player of all-time on their roster.
2019 Raptors -- I feel like most consider Kawhi on that level, but he's probably fringe
2004 Pistons
1979 Sonics -- their best player was Jack Sikma I think
1977 Blazers -- Walton would have been if he stayed healthy
1959 Nats -- Dolph Schayes great but not on that level I don't think
Pretty hard to feel confident in a sweep prediction.Mentioned it already, but I think Nuggets sweep.
Maybe five games if Miami goes crazy at home one game. But I think Denver is going to sweep and this will be one of the best runs ever.
I expect Joker to average a triple double.
Pretty hard to feel confident in a sweep prediction.
I think this series will go 6 games. Jokic is locked in and will dominate, but I also think Miami can push a team in a way that the Nuggs haven't encountered in the playoffs yet. Wolves, Suns and Lakers all manage a certain amount of dysfunction you have't really seen out of the Heat in the playoffs.
Miami's grinded through a much tougher road to get here. They're already an edgy team. I think that will be to their advantage.
All that said, Nuggs in 6, and Jokic wins NBA finals MVP and says something that's an underhanded slight like "this is the MVP trophy that matters the most."
Everything you're saying is reasonable. But the Heat have defied reason non-stop for the past 1.5 months.Fair argument. I just think Joker will thrash them. Coming off a seven game series, altitude, Joker looking forward to getting back to his horses as fast as possible. The important things.
Nuggets being rusty is one way of looking at Game 1.Everything you're saying is reasonable. But the Heat have defied reason non-stop for the past 1.5 months.
I actually think the long layoff hurts Denver more than Miami in Game 1, specifically.

I like how you're getting more specific. We’ll see! I think they’re up 17 by halftime of game 1.
I’m with you. Heat are going to be exhausted after playing a Game 7 (and 20 games total this postseason), then flying back to Miami, and then flying all the way to Denver. On top of that, they’ll have trouble breathing. We’ll see! I think they’re up 17 by halftime of game 1.
Schenectady own native son. His Linton team beat Lew Alcindor's Power Memorial in 1961. Back when Section 2 was regularly churning out some big time players.
My mother was a cheerleader for Linton that day.Schenectady own native son. His Linton team beat Lew Alcindor's Power Memorial in 1961. Back when Section 2 was regularly churning out some big time players.
Riley and Kareem Go Way Back
Before there was Pat Riley, the most successful NBA coach of the decade, there was Pat Riley, high-scoring basketball star for Linton High School in Schenectady.www.latimes.com
I like how you're getting more specific.
But I want to know how many rebounds you think Gordon will have by the end of the 3d quarter of game 2.
Hahahaha…More like dead for a decade. Apparently Pat Riley though so....
She hot?
No, but it won’t be a sweep like the lakers. You putting money down on Miami to beat Denver? After all, they did best the 1 seed handily….
