New AD: Mark Coyle from Boise

Without going into full research mode, the one that stands out to me the most is Danny White. Kills two birds, too, 'cause Buffalo is starting to steal some of our NY clout.

Methinks you should proceed to full research mode. Buffalo stealing our NY clout??? Your fingers allowed you to type that???

Here's a perfect example of poor reporting:

The title reads:

Northern Illinois' Sean Frazier, a hot AD candidate, says he has no interest in Syracuse job

http://www.syracuse.com/orangesport...o_interest_in_syr.html#incart_related_stories

Nate Mink "authored" the story -- or non-story depending on your viewpoint. No doubt he was instructed to run this, although the reason is unclear. Not only is it not news, the title is unnecessarily unflattering (implying that either "SU can't land a 'hot' AD candidate", or "good candidates don't want the SU job"). This happens all the time at the PS (when SU is the subject) -- in fact, you can be sure the titles with the most shock value are followed by articles with the least content.
God that "article" pissed me off. It basically boils down to, "Man who has never even been contacted about a job says he's not particularly interested in the job and confirms that no, he's not even an actual candidate."

Pope Francis has let me know that he's not interested in the job either, FYI.

Anyone notice a resemblance?

In meeting:

Mink: We could run the "How on earth will they hold on to Robert Washington story" now...
Axe: No. Not yet. We'll get more traffic by running it when he visits.
Mink: And they'll look bad!
Axe: Hot Take!
Carlson: How about a way to undermine the recruiting efforts by exposing a normal recruiting practice as insanely shady?
Axe: No. I'm thinking... wait for it... I got nothing.
Mink: I could go look at the board and see what they are talking about!
Axe: The old standby. Make sure you change the order of the words and things.

I predict:

Ad Announced
.com negative angle about how come we cant get Alabama AD type
Alabama's AD was older and had no athletic department experience when he took the job two years ago.

I mean after Crusty and SWC mentioned the exact candidates in this thread it is beyond obvious Mink and co. just read the board and trolls us.

And they told him, "Remember, check with Nick first."

Alabama Type I believe it said. But thanks for the correction - it was hypothetical

I wasn't picking on anyone. I just found it ironic that someone with his background was good enough for the Tide but would be ridiculed both here and in the sub standard.

I am bummed that Frazier isn't interested, I think he was perfect for the gig.

Since Frazier was a candidate at Pitt, and SU used the same search firm, I find it hard to believe that he wasn't contacted. I am not surprised by his public comments since he's out raising money for NIU and can't afford to be seen as looking everywhere else for a job, just like I bet every other candidate can deny.

As for Mink and Carlson, I would imagine it's not that hard to generate a list of possible candidates if you do a little research. A couple of guys at Nunes apparently did: http://www.nunesmagician.com/2015/3...-next-syracuse-athletic-director-orange-daryl

Speculating is fine. Making it seem like a negative that a guy they linked to us wasn't interested is click-bait.

Danny White has youth, experience, blood lines and credentials for the job. Ironically, he was assistant AD at Northern Illinois where Frazier is the current AD. White also hired Felisha-Legette- Jack, former SU star, for the Buffalo womens basketball coaching job. I do wonder though with his father, Kevin, the AD at Duke and around 65 years old, if his son might be the heir apparent.

A great man.

What he would have done with the facility money that has been provided to the Department in the last few years.
He was not a good AD at all! He was far from a great man

Well, to each their own. I know a lot of websites are trying to generate hits, so I don't get worked up about it. It's a very slow news cycle, so what else are they going to run? I mean we are going to get about 5 new "Player X from the Bills prefers Rex to Marrone" from them. It is what it is.

I think it's far off for someone who is reporting on SU sports to wonder why a top candidate (w/ fb experience and NY connections) wouldn't be contacted. I'd expect the same if SU hadn't talked to White, or some of the top people at Ohio St
