New Helmets Saturday

This is why we don't let young kids make too many important life decisions. If we let them decide how to run a program they wouldn't practice that much, that hard, have sparkely helmets, not have to wear any pads, use rap lyrics to call plays, get to flirt with cheerleaders during the game, get to flip off opposing coaches, and deflate the dome for fun. Not a good way to have a successful program. Kids don't know very much.

You're insane if you thought that's what I was implying. No one was saying they should give control to the players in all those areas. Getting their opinion on uni's? All upside - current players feel listened to, recruits have some buy-in.

Most fans know less than even early 20something players and freakin teenage potential players.

That's why neither should be making a decision.

Fact remains, we call ourselves the ORANGE and don't wear it.

How no adult can come with 5 different versions of an ORANGE uniform and show that to the players to decide upon, is beyond me.

For you guys are crazy if you think they designed these by themselves.

I watched highlights of the games when I got home. The truth is, I like the look of the uniforms. The matte blue helmet with the metallic orange likes neat. The rest of the unis are clean and simple.

Just the same, I want to see more ORANGE.

Speaking on behalf of old farts everywhere...If they take away what I consider to be our traditional look, then all I have is winning or losing. Not really, but you get the point I think. Still, times change, things change. Go Orange.

At this point I'm resigned to change. It's inevitable. I do wish the new helmets color scheme was reversed, but since its not I hope we go with the orange jerseys and blue pants against Clemson. I think the orange on orange may be too much but I could be wrong (again)...

personally if we could do todays unis with orange and blue flipped but the same helmets , couple with the reverse helmet and the uni's from today i am 100 percent sold..

Also don't think the helmet would look as good if it was mainly orange fading to the navy. Just looks better to have the dark color fade to a brighter color.

And I thought I was colorblind, our uniforms uses 4 different shades or blue. The blue on the helmet doesn't match the face mask which doesn't match the jersey which doesn't match the pants. One big huge hot mess.

I don't know where people are seeing different shades of blue. You couldn't get any closer of a match.

These are going to look sharp with an orange jersey. Real sharp.

I'm curious if they have plans to do something else with white jerseys? Would be interesting to see what a white jersey would look like with an orange helmet that fades into white on the bottom.

I don't care as long as we win, but I happen to like them. Why are people from Syracuse so resistant change? Grumble grumble..., not enough orange,..., pout, grumble,..., want uniforms from the 90's back. Then we will win again and I will finally come out of my 2 decade old funk.

Thank god the kids helped design the helmets and the uniforms. We shouldn't care as long as they like them and are excited.

I can't believe how much some of you bitch about these jerseys. I think everyone gets it we are the orange! I never heard as many whinny fans about a freakin color that is part of our scheme and I'm sure there will be more orange coming up!

this is not tom cruise "all the right moves" it's a new day. No one is wearing cut off jerseys that end at the stomach and long sleeves anymore. Even if craig t nelson was coaching football still he would agree. I do agree, we need more orange in the uni if we are called the orange. I think they will meet every one half way if we were to come out with orange jerseys with the blue helmet.

I like the all-blue look, however, an Orange jersey would be really awesome!

From afar thought we look a bit like the Houston Texans jerseys with orange substituted for the red. Love the new helmets

They looked good. I think the dark blue is a little more intimidating a color than orange. I also think the blue pants went better with those helmets than orange pants would have.
