Anyone have a line to the band director? Can we bring back that chop on kickoffs? Seriously...loved how it engaged the fans, and we need more of that.

Yes I am dating myself but back in the 90's it was a thing and then it just faded away...

i never got that, the music and the tempo felt very different to me...
They were, but you see hands overhead in a chopping motion and most think FSU (and in the '90's the Atlanta Braves).

If we did it before they made it famous, I'm cool with it. If not, it feels like little brother copying big brother.

i mean the braves to it too so who knows who did it first lol. still though, i would like to see something that similarly engaged fans on kickoffs at the very least. keeping fans loud as often as possible is another element to the "loud house" mentality imo

Sure, something to get people engaged is great. But let's do our thing, not somebody elses. They have a strong relationship with the Seminole nation and have a native american ride a horse and plant a spear at every home game. The chop fits them. We don't have that same relationship with local native americans. Let's do something different.

And something should be done about that. We should have a closer relationship to them, most especially in LAX. To the OP, good idea but let's find something more original - think Northern. Boreal. Tattypoo. North star. Whatever. We need find a theme that fits this area and its heritage.

How about a prolonged drum roll right before the kick-off with the fans voicing a prolonged “O-o-o-u-u-rrrrrr...”, then when the the kicker’s foot meets the ball, a roaring “...HOUSE!!!”.

(Thanks, but no need to compliment me for my brilliant suggestion.)

That would be nice. Both sides have to have interest in it. That may be the biggest stumbling block.

To signify what? We're the Orange.

I like this one. This would be pretty cool

But even that isn’t ours.

Still like appropriating GOT’s “King in the North!”

No. The School tries to hard to establish traditions (Ernie Davis Legends' Field; statues galore; abundance of retired jerseys; bells; trail whistles; etc.). Mostly in the name of trying to fill the void left by near two decades of suckitude. Nobody outside Syracuse diehards knows squat about anything of these things except maybe the significance of "44," and that's because multiple players kicked ass wearing that number.

Keep winning games, and the traditions will emerge on their own.

Somebody does kick-offs like that? Enlighten me, please.
Kickoffs no, or at least not that I'm aware of, but the University of Georgia system owns a copyright on "Whose house? Our house" I believe.

Ok ok you all have beaten the enthusiasm out of me.

I just remember it really pumped the crowd up and I don’t feel like we have an equivalent

Yup. I’m with you. All I know is it sounded good, it was fun, and it was one of the few gameday “traditions” we had.

Really didn’t (and still don’t) care the reason for doing it.

Whose House? Our House!
Whose House? Our House!

“Whose House? Our House!” There may be imitators, but there’s nothing like the original. One of the classic chants in all of college sports had its start in Statesboro. During home football games, at the “prettiest little stadium in America,” as well as on the hardwood of Hanner Fieldhouse, the defining cheer, led by the student section, reminds opponents of Eagle home dominance.
