Kellen Winslow is in the conversation for best tight end to have ever played the game, not sure Oronde is quite there yet.
He was aways a terrific, big, agile TE who could make the catch in the seam or over the middle.
Fran turned him into a much better blocker last year. I think he could be a terrific pro. Hugely underrated.
P.S. - Just like with basketball, it's all about projection.
None of them are the finished article yet. Even Michael Jordan wasn't Michael Jordan, or more accurately didn't become "Michael Jordan" until about about his 5th year, when he started making threes.
Of course Oronde Gadsden is not yet Kellen Winslow, but that's the type of player he
looks like. That's what you would use as an example to try to build him. That's who you would model his game on, as his coach. That's whose film you show him, to try to teach him who he can become.
When I said Luke Fennell is a Chris Mullin type of player, I didn't say he was Chris Mullin
right now. I'm saying that's who you use to try to mold his game into. That's his role model. That is his "ideal" version of who he could become.
Jesus, why do you guys even watch the draft, or follow recruiting at all if you don't understand the very basic proposition of trying to project who these players
could turn into. Very few, if any of them are already the finished product. That's years down the road.
