Yeah the idea that Kiper is “disgusted”. Like who the are you? 32 GMs don’t want him for various reasons, it’s not like 1 team or 10 teams didn’t want him. NO ONE wants him as a pick in the top 3 rounds. That should tell people something, but instead it’s “disgusting” for some reason

Prime is just toxic. No way the kid is going to sit anywhere without causing a fuss, or his old man causing a fuss. Not going to be a good kid to have in the locker room. You can bet whatever team he goes to, some serious veterans are going to kick that kid's ass.
 
Man, I just saw a video of Sanders getting pranked today during the second round with all of his entourage standing around him; someone called his cell and said "it's gonna be a while" and hung up.

I don't really like Sanders because of how he acts but that's just cruel.
 
it’s gone too far already. Sanders is better than most qbs taken (same for McCord imo). Sure there are distractions but that can happen almost everywhere across all pro sports.

If it becomes a problem you can move on. It’s worth the risk, he can play.

I would put Nix at the top of that list since he has already proven he can lead a team to the NFL playoffs

It sounds like he left bad impressions in his wake. That's mostly been in his control so think his strategy hasn't worked out as he hoped. I listened to a guy before the draft that was absolutely certain that Sanders would be in the top 5, most likely #1. While his skills may be elite, his presentation hasn't played to his benefit...yet. The number of teams that can accommodate him on a variety of levels is small and they have chosen to hold off for now. There was talk today of rumors that negative news about Sanders may be waiting at the end of the draft. It's not devastating as yet, but it's got to be humbling...

Hah oops. Was reading about the Oregon kid drafted and was thinking Nix. Feel like his performance thus far helped in a bit of a reach there for Gabriel.
 
It's pretty clear to me that NFL scouts have no idea who's going to be successful at the QB position. They are constantly chasing the most recent guy who sees success. They base everything on comps and comps don't mean diddly at the QB position since each successful QB is kind of a unicorn. Shough and Gabriel going ahead of Sanders and McCord is laughable, but they can justify it because when they squint and hold their head at a certain angle Shough reminds them of Josh Allen and Gabriel reminds them of Baker Mayfield.

Didn't Sanders (or his Dad) say he wouldn't play for a cold city team if drafted by them? That applies to half the league. Let him go UDFA if he wants to pick his own team.

And in case anyone wants to now how consistent I am with this, I didn't like what Eli did to the Chargers way back when either.

I also can't help but to wonder what Deion has been doing since Thursday night; could he have called up GMs and demanded that they pick his son? I wouldn't put it past him.

With Kyle not being drafted yet convinces me that the nfl can no longer talent evaluate especially at the qb position. It was becoming obvious with all the busts at qb and multiple positions. I remember the days when guys from small know name schools would get drafted high because teams had real evaluators that would scour film and turn over every stone looking for players. Now it seems they buy into the SCE B1G hype and the star system and then pat each other on the back and celebrate like they just made the pick of the century. It’s a joke.

They also chase fads and follow trends. Obsession over mobile QBs and fast edges who can contain them. They ignored RBs for a while too. Things go in cycles. It’s unfortunate for Kyle because he’s not a fit for what a lot of teams want despite the fact that he can play and is incredibly coachable.

Sanders is also not mobile and isn’t as coachable so it’s not surprise he’s fallen. Shough just makes no sense to me given his age and accuracy issues. He’s just big and has some mobility so he checks the boxes.

When you pick someone like Shough who hasn't been able to stay healthy in college, you are reaching. Plus being 26 makes it even more of a gamble.
A truly bad move.

It’s funny about mobility. I remember when they would not draft qbs that were not strictly pocket passers. Now they would rather have someone the is a poor passer as long as they are mobile. The reason teams cycle through so many qbs.

This

The league is clearly focused on getting away from pocket passers and overvaluing DL - the exception this draft was Tyler Shough apparently is the type of guy Kellen Moore really likes which is why he picked him. I think he will be a bust and the Saints draft in general has been trash.

If I was a GM I'd look at what everyone else is doing and do the opposite.

I wouldn't draft an unproven DL pick, Id wait until camp starts when these teams start releasing proven DL talent and pick up proven value from cap cuts and roster cuts.

The Browns have had head scratching draft too, which isn't a surprise. They had a lot of high value picks and in my eyes wasted those picks.

100% a Kellen Moore call on that pick. And shows he is over his head as an evaluator.

He benefited from coaching Dak, Stafford, and Hurts. He didn't have input on drafting any of those guys.

He is going to be a bust in New Orleans.
