I know this is the first time since 2006 that we had 4 players drafted, but how long has it been since we had 10 players go altogether between the draft and free agency?

That said, give Fran back that credit -
Because OGII, Wax, and Barron (at a minimum) are all out the door had Fran not been the hire and convinced them to stay).

OGII told Fran he needed a QB.
Fran got him & us the best QB in the country.

Barron & Wax didn’t want another year in the 3-3-5.

E Rob switched up the D,
and Wax’s injury opened up the opportunity for JB to play LB,
which surely immensely improved his draft stock and chances to stick at the next level.

I’ll give Babers a “hockey assist” for those guys he recruited.

He gave the Browns an A+ because they drafted two QB, but didn't fill a WR need? Come on.
There has to be some graft going on between him and Camp Sanders.

Mel once said that a team didn't know what the draft was all about because they took a guy in the first round that Mel thought they could get in the second round. Well, right back at you Mel. You wanted Sanders taken in the first round and a team got him in what round again?

Both ESPN and the NFL Network couldn’t go 5 minutes without talking about Sanders. Every pick became, “Will this be the team that picks him?” It made for a very unenjoyable watch.

I’m not saying NFL GM’s always make great decisions but the only thing they care about in the NFL is winning. 32 teams decided for multiple rounds that Sanders wasn’t worth a pick. But ESPN is going to gaslight everyone into believing there’s some hidden agenda. There’s been a lot worse people drafted even in the 1st round by teams. They don’t care, if you can help them win, one or more of the 32 teams will draft you. Nobody thought Sanders was a sure thing to help them win.

Then to read all everything about how bad, entitled, unprofessional and unprepared he was when teams met with him. No crap nobody was interested.

Well he didn’t give them an A+ because they took 2 QBs.

All these 6th round RBs going before Lequint. I think he ends up making quite a few teams look silly when his ability as a receiver and in pass protection has him further up a depth chart than many of these guys.

Could be true but Allen is really a great match to Jacksonville and that is super important.

I'm not comparing him with Bronny, but there are some shortcomings which would have been more exposed/highlighted if he wasn't Deion's kid ("bloodlines" only goes so far):

1. Short passes come out wobbly
2. Simple playbook (adaptation to NFL will take more time compared with 'pro' set QB)
3. Not mobile in the pocket (takes sacks; could get injured in NFL)
4. Long passes die (I hadn't noticed this, but I get it)
5. Blames the OL for his pressure/sacks

Then add in all the entitlement, refusal to work out for teams (he wasn't the #1 or #2 pick but acted like it), was arrogant in interviews (I wouldn't want to be the GM who drafted him fearing for my job or Deion breathing down my neck)... and he could be a locker room cancer if he be the #2 pick... now he's a 5th rounder.

When you take a lot of sacks which should have been thrown out of bounds it improves your percentage.
That always should be factored in as a penalty, because you are losing a down and yards.

Mel beclowned himself this weekend.

Ten minutes before Cam Ward was drafted #1 Kiper went on a long rant about how Sanders should go in that spot. You could tell his fellow panelists were embarrassed for him. I bet he's already working on excuses for why Sanders' career didn't turn out the way he expected. Usually we forget what these analysts say a few weeks after the draft. Not here. If Sanders flops then Mel is gonna wear that one.
