nfl greatest 12 RB show

Brees is a lock
I mean I put him but I don't think he is a lock.
He faces the recency bias this team has had.
Gronk barely made the TE team as the 5th and last one.

Only 1 active player thus far in Adam Vinatieri.
Brady will be a second.
Brees could be the third.

Brees is on the bubble IMO. I put him on but a John Madden led group could go Favre.

Good point about Madden. He loved favre. I just think he was the least consistent of that group. Had a few years he threw more INT's than TD's. The rest of the modern guys were more consistent.

Sid Luckman
Sammy Baugh
Otto Graham
Johnny Unitas
Bart Starr
Roger Staubach
Joe Montana
John Elway
Tom Brady
Peyton Manning

id like to take those S's out...Sid, Sammy & Starr.

just not sure the NFL will.

Starr is probably the one that really was more of a system guy than a great QB

Warfield? ehh...
FWIW, my father has always raved about Warfield. All his stories about the Bills playing Miami when he was young are littered with appreciation for Warfield’s talents.

agree.

but he was a 'Packer' and 5x Champion and on the 60s All Decade Team.

They did a 75th anniversary team. They should have just kept the guys on that team and added new ones. Starr was not on that team btw.

im trying to convince myself to take him off, i just cant find the right candidate.

Marino, Favre & Brees at top.

I’d argue that Faulk was better than Dickerson because he was a better all-around player. And while I appreciate wanting to recognize older players, I think they overdid it here. Cases could be made for Tomlinson and Peterson as well.
If they had thrown the ball to backs in Dickerson's day, he would have caught lots of balls. A 3 down back, as I recall. He was bigger, stronger and faster than almost anyone who ever played that spot. I am a Dallas fan, so Dorsett and Emmit for me, but I would say Brown, OJ, Dickerson, Payton, and Sanders would be my must guys. After that things like longevity (Sayers and Campbell) come into play.

What's the criteria. Marino might be the best passer to ever play. Elway might be the most talented. Bradshaw has all those rings.

I don't know. BB and Madden's subjectivity?

I would like to know if anyone from the 75 year team has been left of the 100 year team though. If they were that seems dumb.

not really.

they are adding more players so 1 would think thats the case, but its possible the level of play has been eclipsed.

it would be interesting and quite debatable.

26 voters. Led by John Madden and Peter King voted for this.
They met in NYC in June and had one other conference call.
They all submitted ballots after discussions of each finalist position group.
Belichick is just part of the TV discussions he didn’t have a ballot.

I didn’t explain myself well. I think it’s stupid that Earl Campbell didn’t make the 75th anniversary team, but he made the 100 year team. Did Bronco Nagurski make the team because I haven’t seen him yet and he was on the 75th anniversary team?

Uh, not sure where you're getting your information from, but it's wrong.

Straight from Peter King’s Mouth

Google Peter King all time 100 team watch the video on Facebook. For some reason it won’t link.

Two things:

1. For those trying to watch the video, just click "Watch on Facebook" in the "Unavailable" box above.
2. King doesn't say anything remotely like what you're suggesting. He confirms there were 26 people on the panel, that Belichick was on the panel and volunteered along with Madden to do the research on the old-time players (creating a subcommittee as King called it), and presented his findings to the rest of the panel. I'm honestly baffled by your conclusions.

if people dont vote for Mackey at TE they just dont follow SU or fball. You watch his highlight video and he makes gronk look like a child.

They both made it. SU has had great representation so far.

no Jim Brown?

You left off the videographer. You know BB's gonna need one of those.
