How did it help the Patriots?
Well, they’re lopping up the underdog bs like it’s the newest exciting installment of the Brady Love Story and it makes me sick. They also likely get a better draft pick unless the super bowl champ’s last I forgot how that works since it has never, and will never apply to the team I love. Also our pick sucks and Miami poses more of a threat imo to Brady than the jets or jills

Miami’s draft position puts them out of the range for a top QB without mortgaging a lot of captial.
Getting from 13 to top 5 is a lot more than from 8.
That helps NE.

NE is concerned with Miami? lol

Of course they are concerned with division rivals. The best case for NE is the other AFC East teams win 6-8 games each year so they can’t win the division but don’t get picks at the top of the draft.

Truth be told .. and you aren’t going to hear this on any of the sports shows tonight or this week .. but Brady AND Brees were not very good today . Brady was CLUTCH but his suboptimal play is what lead to him having to be clutch in the first place .. that INT at the goal line was terrible .. he was throwing behind and high all game (till the last drive) leading to incompletions and tips leading to what should have been two MORE ints.. (one called back cause Ford is an idiot )

Brees was frankly BAD.. he was missing throws all game and could have sealed it with that 3rd and 17 to Ginn where it’s A TD if he leads him, instead throws behind him .. that long pass to Ginn on the fateful NO PI drive was a duck that the Ram DB butchered .. I think Brees is close to done

Brees arm was fine against Philly when he completed about 3 third and 20’s. PFF grades these guys you know and he had the highest QB grade this year.

The second INT was on Edelman and not Brady and I’m not a Pats fan. Not sure where you come with this stuff sometimes.

The last INT was def on gronk.

There is no QB out there in this year's draft that is going to meaningfully change Miami's fortunes in the next three years. After that timeframe all bets are off because Brady for sure and BB quite likely will both have left the scene by 2022.

Tank for Lawrence in 2021.

Brees is still great but something is up with his arm. That bears watching.

Did you see him under throw Ginn on the first play vs philly by about 10 yards on the deep ball ? throwing 20 yards isn’t a deep ball ..he also made several really bad throws yesterday .. including 3rd and 17 where Ginn was open but he threw behind him.. those are throws he normally makes in his sleep.. and we’re not talking about the entire season here .. he was brilliant early .. we’re talking about the last third where the. Saints offense has been pretty pedestrian.. the pass to Gronk was up around his head .. not sure how that’s on Gronk

We don’t know this. Mahomes wasn’t a QB who was going to be meaningful when he went 10th two years ago.
Haskins/Lock/ the other QB could be studs.
Miami beating NE was good in the moment but it dropped them 5 spots and that is where the cost to move
Up goes up a lot.

If Brady plays next year and then retires and the Patriots role a bum out there for 2020 and somehow ended up with Lawrence in 2021 the NFL fans would go insane.

He was off on throws for sure but that underthrow to Ginn wasn’t 10 yards and one INT was on Brady yesterday. I’ll agree to disagree because you exaggerate pretty much everything on all of your posts.

After all the cyberspace killed in this thread regarding the futility of the other three AFC East teams it seems ironic that NE has something to fear with Miami's potential first round draft pick. Isn't Flores going to be coaching the Dolphins? Great. Another BB disciple that BB will own lock, stock and barrel and yet will fail miserably like all the others.

They were a 3 pt dog on the road .. at KC no less (which has one of the highest home field ratings in sports ) so Vegas was actually claiming the teams were even

Ironic in that you just exaggerated in whining about exaggerating

Only threat to the Pats is Brady or BB getting bored and quitting

And now they're favored in the SB.

Explain to me how 2 dropped passes by Edelman and Gronk for INts are on Brady then? You think other people are blind?

You just think the Patriots don’t fear the other AFC East teams. They do.
I am fan and everyone else in here is a fan. Thus we can take the dominance for granted but I actually follow the other division teams and don’t want them getting good players/picks just to help the team.
I know you probably don’t care about the AFC East like you do the NFC East but the other 3 AFC East teams aren’t all crap they win 6-8 games and if they had a QB or another stud could be threaten the Patriots spot. They actually build their rosters to beat NE.

The Patriots went 11-5 this year and were blown out by Jaguars/Lions/Titans and yet the refs are letting them get off to fast starts:
Maybe the Patriots OL coach Dante Scarnechhia is freaking good.
But the only logical conclusion is the refs let the Patriots get away with holding.
Imagine diving into penalty data to prove a team you hate is favored. Also he lost we when he said the dreaded “that’s what they want you to believe”. Tin foil hat conspiracy theorist

You might want to familiarize yourself with what Spygate actually was first.

Spygate (NFL) - Wikipedia

There's nothing in there that I didn't already know, and there was also more than was ever revealed. Goodell was still Kraft's boy at the time, and he was in his debt for Kraft's efforts to have him hired commissioner. Goodell had scads of evidence destroyed for two reasons. First, it would have revealed Belichick and the Patriots were dirtier than what was then known; and second, with the destruction of so much critical evidence, it effectively forestalled the threatened upcoming Senate investigation. I recall reading that around the same time, stadium security staffs had on numerous occasions chased away 'alleged operatives' trying surreptitiously to gain access to teams' practice facilities. Who knows who they were, but if any were caught in the service of another team, it was all immediately buried.

The NFL swallowed the scandal as it was to prevent revealing a greater one: a.) that Super Bowls had been won by teams that had cheated; and many more teams other than just the Patriots were doing it. Finally, it might have cratered the league if an investigation revealed gambling interests had insider access to the knowledge.

Just IMHO

For sure wasn't rooting for NE, but the only thing I have as a Raiders fan is watching walrus lose another home playoff game. Go Rams!

Before I agree with everyone that the refs are on the pats payroll, I mean, let’s be serious here...of course they are, I do want to say that scammechia is the best OL coach there is.

I’m sure the # of holds they get called for is lower than most because of his expertise in teaching them either how to block properly or more importantly how not to get caught when u do hold.

Most called holds are blatantly stupid and obvious.

I actually like the poster but he just thinks the NFL is rigged for the Patriots because of Kraft-Goodell.
The relationship was a lot closer pre-Deflategate but that is 4 SBs ago for NE.

That's all great but the likelihood that Miami's first round draft pick is going to affect NE over the near term (next two to three years) is very unlikely. New QB, new coach as green as the landscape in Ireland - I assure you they are no threat to NE over the near term. After Brady and BB leave you'll have far bigger concerns than what Haskins or Lock (who sucks btw) do for Miami.
