So Rex Ryan trying to get himself the Kansas City DC job is what happened.
Steve Spagnuolo is now the favorite for the job.
It looks like Rex asked Adam Schefter to leak his name.

Yeah I could never see Reid hiring Ryan. Two polar opposite personalities.

That's what I thought as far as the personalities. I've seen plenty of Andy Reid press conferences here in KC and pairing him with Rex didn't seem like a match made in heaven.

"Time's yours" is the famous quote Andy was known for when starting the post-game presser in Philly. Dry as the dessert.

Looking at the Rams roster they really aren’t a deep team. The first units look really stocked with good talent but tjeir roster overall isn’t a deep as KC or other top teams.
I think NE will try to run no huddle and wear the Rams out with long drives and by the 4th quarter have less energy on the DL.
This game will come down to Goff. I really don’t know how good he is. McVey really coaches him up.
No Cooper Cupp is such a difference in this game.
Pats can put Gilmore on Cooks or play Cooks like they did with Hill with a speed DB and a safety over the top and Gilmore on Woods.

Playing KC really helps NE prepare for LAR.
I think this is a one possession game but I like NE.

So sick of “the refs decided the game” bs and people calling for end of game to be replayed from when the non PI call occurred..

How bout then go back to the missed face mask on Goff and replay it from there ?

And had absolutely no impact on the play.

Dumb play by him.
Is he taking a lot of heat in KC?
If it was close I would say just eat the flag but he was clearly in the neutral zone trying to get a jump start.
All he needed to do was look at the ref and thumbs up and he would have been told.
The ref didn’t hesitate to throw the flag and wait for the play to play out. It was immediate and honestly watching this angle Brady had White open in the flat and he threw to Gronk who dropped it.

I'd love for the ref to eat that flag. If he got to Brady, then clearly an advantage was gained. I'd have to look again to see if the back reacted to him over whoever got closer though to be sure. It's amazing to me that this play decided the Pats game ultimately while the non-call decided the ultimate outcome of the Saints. The league needs the refs to do better.

This was mentioned earlier in the thread, but again it has to be mentioned IMO. The refs missed an obvious facemask on Goff that would have made it first and goal for the Rams. Nobody is mentioning that. They were BOTH bad misses, but only one is being mentioned cause it was at the end of the game. Sure, if the first penalty was called, the end of the game would have played out differently, I get that. My point is bad calls were made both ways and both need to be mentioned.

I remember that play distinctly and that was very much a judgment call. It was not an obvious facemask because I don't believe fingers were inserted into the mask, but it looked bad because it turned Goff's head from the contact. But that one could have gone either way. There is no 'either way' for the other no call. None. Should never have happened. Ever. I'm not a Saints fan, and I still can't let that go.

Ref can’t eat that flag. He was beyond the neutral zone. James White chipped him and he was double teamed. That is what happened to him and Justin Houston all game long. Also Brady got the ball out real quick.

The ref the flag right at the snap. So it wasn’t a flag after the INT. It’s more of a dumb play by Ford. If it was a inch I would say it eat it but his arm was beyond the ball. It was just obvious.
It definitely bailed out Gronk. Brady could have gotten 10-15 yards if he threw to White in the left flat.

Yeah, still want them to eat that flag and end us Pats haters misery.

Okay. Pretty sure he let go immediately though. Could be wrong, but still felt like a judgment call.

He absolutely did. Russillo covered this quite well. Bringing up this & the play clock expiring for .3 seconds sound like people who don't watch football much.

LOL. Will you tell my wife this? She thinks I watch way too much football. I have to agree with her. I also am not a Rams or Saints Fan.

Look how offsides Ford was.
It was worse than I thought. His arm was beyond the ball.

Andy Reid wonders why official didn't warn Ford

Interesting article with the following snippet from the NFL rule book on neutral zone infractions:

Who are the idiots that write the NFL rule book? Why add potential for controversy by inserting a warning?!? Any time a defensive player is in the neutral zone (lined up or moves into it) should be an automatic flag on the defense (assuming no false start).

Get rid of the idiocy of allowing a defender to get out of the neutral zone if he doesn't make contact or cause an offensive player to jump.

You know, just watch the fargin ball.

In this case, it likely doesn't matter at but I've seen centers move the ball significantly pre-snap and everyone is set. So, that's a possible reason for the warning. When the neutral zone shifts it may be hard for the defenders to realize it if they didn't see the ball move.
