Has Eli ever been a top 5 QB any year? What's the best season he had? Barely top 10?
Depends how u want to move the goalposts to make your point and bring him down.

Is it ratings when he’s top 5 in yards?

Is it INTs when he’s top 5 in TDS.

How you gonna set up yours??

Oh, and...If his name was Flacco, he’d be a HOF lock.

But Because it’s Manning, he gets extra shlit on.

He may have been 10th in 2015.
But the guy is the definition of a consistent in the 12-18 range.
His year they went 13-3 in 2008 without Brady his QBR and other stats were in the 11-13 range.

Eli is a turnover machine. That is why his play hasn’t been top of the league.
If you want to go by QBR, QB rating, TD/INT ratio.
The guy hasn’t been a top of the league QB. Honestly you have to see this.
It’s not like he has gotten tons of INts throwing deep and trying to score.

I mean each of the years Brees finished 1st in yards he was top 6 in rating. One year he was first and 2 others he was second.

Yards don't mean split. He could be compiling that in garbage time.

I know.

Kaiser thinks my QB throws too many picks. He has 4 less interceptions than Eli in 32 more games.

Eli has 2 seasons of 25 plus INT's.

Career 345 TDs 232 INTs. 113 fumbled lost.
Career QB rating 83.7
Career completion % 60.1

I mean the stats tell everything.
The guy has 2 rings. Which are huge but the stats and win percentage of 112-108 are just blaring.

This is hilarious Joe Flacco has
209 TDs, 134 INTs.
Career QB rating 84.2
Career compeletion % 61.8
W/L record 96-64.
1 SB Title.

If Flacco plays another 5 years he is Eli 2.0.

Anyone can get hot for a few games.

MLB is littered with postseason hero's who've been average in the regular season.

Phil Simms on the other hand was a close to HOF QB.
1987 NFL Passing Statistics | The Football Database
1984 he was a top 8 QB
1985 he was a top 10 QB
1986 he was a top 11 QB.
1987 he was a top 3 QB.
1988 he was a top 8 QB.
1989 he was a top 10 QB.

It didn’t even realize most of those years till I actually looked at Simms own page he missed games almost every year for I am guessing injuries.

Simms was better in his Era than Eli is in his own Era.
It is just QB play is miles better now.
Marino and Elway went up in my mind looking at QB play for this era.
Also Boomee Esiasion is a little underrated. He was a stud from this year.

He had injuries, but also endured a couple of strikes.

Simms put up big #s in a run 1st, run 2nd...offense.

Boomer was damn good too.

You gotta admit that turnovers are kinda important, no? And nobody this side of Nathan Peterman turns the ball over like Eli.

I wish I charted all of his INTs, it would shed some light as to why ‘Team Eli’ doesn’t give a shlit about them.

I would put Eli in my own third tier of QBs (borderline HoFers):

All-time: All timers that can be in the argument for best ever (eg: Brady, Manning).

Elite: Next-level that won't be on the mt rushmore of QBs, but are the next level down but still absolute locks for the HoF and likely have a SB ring or appearances (eg: Drew Brees, Jim Kelly)

Very good: Either peaked super high but the ride didn't last long or were good over a long period of time (eg: Eli for the second part of that description)

Good: Quality QBs that could make elite throws but would also work the system (eg: Boomer Esiason)

Not sure what the argument is. Eli is a very good QB. He'll likely get in the HoF. That's a great career. He isn't as good as Brady or Rodgers or Brees, but barely anyone else is.

It is tipped pass central. I have no clue what the stat is on that compared to other QBs but it's ridiculous.

103 picks and 52 fumbles in the last 6+ years. That's a lot of tipped balls.

Probably 75 tipped balls.

52 fumbles...thanks for proving how shlity the offensive line has been.

I doubt Brady, Brees and the boys have been hit 52x.

It's a lot of throwing into traffic and tight windows as well.

End of the day he led the Giants on the two greatest NFL drives I'll ever care about.
Amen.

NFL HOF is 2 things:

1. Stats
2. Rings

Check and Checkmate

We really are just debating wether or not he should’ve had a few more failed postseason runs, since in the last 25 years the only QBs with more titles are Brady & Aikman (not a HOF IMO) and the only ones tied are Elway, Peyton and Ben.

Not bad company.

The rest are all just PlayStation-Nation fanboy idols.

I hear ya.

I'm just impressed with the never ending litany of reasons for why Eli didn't play well. They're very creative and run the full spectrum.

The vast majority of NFL games are won by the team that wins the turnover battle. When you understand that then it becomes easier to figure out why his career record is not very good.

If you watched his games, you’d realize that most INTs, off tipped balls or wrong run timing routes...were when the GIANTS, now stay with me here...were...LOSING.

As clutch as he’s been in 4th, or 2nd half’s even...you can’t win them all.

Yeah, but what’s his QBR? What’s his average fantasy football draft round selection? What do some goofballs on twitter think? I’m so hip and cutting edge. Need more nerd numbers and funny face memes!

Actually that’s exactly what the Giants were doing with Gilbride, years after most of the rest of the league went full dink and dunk.

He’s also counting ‘fumbles’ and not ‘fumbles lost’...but let’s play along.

If they don’t watch and just stat read...they really shouldn’t comment should they...
