Wow that values Goff as if he is a blocking sled. Two first rounders? Insane.
Detroit just made the trade of the decade.Lol highway robbery by Detroit and I am not a Goff or Stanford fan.
The upgrade from Goff to Stafford is probably worth a first round pick and maybe a mid round pick but no chance it’s worth 2 first round picks. Its due to his insane contract, 106 mill guaranteed. Rams had to pay out to get anyone to take that albatross

The Rams are going to go 6 years in a row without a first round pick.
This trade is so stupid. Stafford is 33 and gotten injured in the last 2 seasons.
Plus Stafford is going to want an extension and he is 33.
They are going to get out of the contract and then pay Stafford basically the same amount. It was about getting out of Goffs contract, they desperately wanted out of that mess. To get someone to take on that its gonna cost a fortune.

Stafford’s agent has all the leverage in the world now.
They gave up 2 first round picks. He has 2 years left. He isn’t going give them a break when they gave up all that draft capital.
They will pay Stafford age 35+
They probably could have traded Goff with a single future first round pick to team like Indy or the Jets with a chit load of cap space.
Just like the Texans did to Cleveland for Brock Osweller.

The Goff contract only has guaranteed money with thru 2023.No chance Indy or the Jets want to take on Goffs contract, hes really struggled the last two years and is owed 106 mill in guaranteed money. Rams can roll with Stafford for 2 years and then most likely move on. They just wanted out of the contract.

It’s not that bad.
Cap hit is 27.5 million next year.
25.5 million 2022.
The Rams are eating 22.5 million next year.
Then after 2022 the Lions can get out of the final 2 years for 8.6 million.
It’s not a bad trade for the Lions one bit.
Stafford was going to cost 20 million next year.
It’s a steal for the Lions.
Stafford is a slight upgrade from Goff.I think the Rams would be happy to pay Stafford. He's a clear upgrade over Goff and the Rams are in win a SB mode. The path thru the NFC looks a lot easier now that Brees/Brady/Rodgers are at the end of their careers

I agree. I have done the deal for one first round pick.
2 first round picks and third round is stupid.
I outlined the Goff contract.
It’s really not that bad.
It’s a 2 year deal with an opt out for 8 million if they don’t want the last 2 years.
27 million and 25.5 cap hits.
The Rams are eating the signing bonus dead money.

Jeff George...Jay Cutler...Matt Stafford.Stafford is the most overrated QB in the league. Don’t understand why people thing he’s good.
I think McVey is kinda overrated. The Rams overpaid but I don't think as much as people think. I think Goff is going to struggle mightily away from McVay and in Detroit.
Kinda feel like it’s a bad trade for both teams. The Rams never have a first round pick and it will catch up with them, and the Lions are now anchored to Goff’s ridiculous contract.
I think McVey is kinda overrated.
His staffs have been loaded and ransacked the.past 2 years.
I think he micromanages Goff and the media loves him.
I think he turned Goff into a robot.
Anthony Lynn is a terrific offensive coach. Goff isn’t much different from Stafford IMO.
Not seeing what the Rams were thinking. Stafford will save them 7 million but with the dead money it’s not a benefit.
Kyle Orton and 2 first round picks for Jay Cutler. When's the last time 2 starting quarterbacks were traded for each other like this?
He was a throw in if he gives them anything that's great. They will draft a QB this year. The Rams overpaid but I don't think as much as people think. I think Goff is going to struggle mightily away from McVay and in Detroit.
I actually thought the same thing.Watch the Lions shock everyone and trade the farm for Watson lol
