For Shailene Woodley apparently. Can't decide if that's an upgrade, downgrade or neutral. Guess that means I'm leaning neutral.
It's all been downhill for Aaron since breaking up with Olivia Munn.

Much respect to Duvernay-Tardif.

Also, while I find Smith's recovery and rehab inspirational, I think he'd be better off hanging up the cleats.

I feel exactly the same way about Smith (and Duvernay-Tardif for that matter. Wow it would be a great comeback story for Alex, but I would just be sick if he got hurt again.

That’s where I’m coming from as well on Smith. After all that he’s gone through to be able to lead a “normal” life with his family, it’d be horrible if he was re-injured

Adams to the Seahawks for 2 first round picks and 3rd.

Seattle is just stupid.
They wouldn’t pay Earl Thomas 2 years ago.
They give up a lot of draft capital for a safety who runs his mouth.

Now unless Russell Wilson gets hurt those picks are likely in the late teens or 20’s.

Jets get a steal. Adams is a malcontent that will never be happy. The guy has two interceptions in three years. Great deal for the Jets. Thank God the Cowboys didn't trade for him.

Many players wanted to keep rosters at 90 until Labor Day weekend, but teams were told otherwise based on their agreement. NFL teams can either cut to 80 by July 28 and practice as one unit, or wait until August 16 and practice in a split squad.

Teams that wait to reduce to 80 must utilize split-squad procedures, with one group mainly consisting of rookies, first-year players, and any quarterbacks or injured players assigned to that group. (Designations, once made, can’t be changed.) The second group will consist of all veteran players who report on July 28.

A team that chooses the split-squad approach can reduce to 80 at any time before August 16, and then merge into one unit.

So, basically, it’s up to the team whether to carry 90, with the understanding that having 90 on the roster will result in a split squad. By August 16 — the day before padded practices start — all teams will be down to 80.

Patriots starting RT Marcus Cannon a cancer survivor snd Lb Donta Hightower have opted out of this season.

A lot of players are going to opt out.

Trading 2021 first round draft picks was really stupid.
The NFL is really going to have a hard time playing 16 games without a vaccine.
The draft could be decided by a blind draw.

Those picks are more valuable this draft. Well done Seattle. Trading two first round picks in a season like this.

5 Patriots have now opted out.

Wonder how many players from other teams opt out.

Pats definitely have taken the biggest hit through day 2 of this...and I would not be surprised to see the McCourty's join them. And I do not blame a single one.

Would be nice if this thing evens out a bit, you know, in the off chance we actually have a season

i cant imagine any sane individual would do this. i wonder if there is some angle here by in which he gets more of his contract paid out if he makes a legit effort to come back? i mean is he nuts? does he want to lose a limb? did you watch the E60 episode on him? he could easily be dead..let alone an amputee

heres what the NFL is betting on..and I think it's a good bet for them...there is no league where you can just find a never ending supply of players as the NFL. how many legit difference makers are there in terms of Joe Q fan being able to tell the difference between rando outside starting linebacker vs rando practice squad line backer?

until starting QBs and name pass rushers/WR's take a seat, the public will not care, and thus the league wont care.

in MLB, there aren't enough pitchers in the world to give each every team a quality rotation. in the NBA, the drop off in talent from first division starter to bench guy is huge. in football, you can find a dude sitting on the couch who got cut from camp who can do 90 percent of what most starters can.

this is why the nFL won't care about sacrificing their players' bodies.

It’s all part of Belichick’s master plan to Tank for Trevor.

It’s genius. Nobody is gonna give two figs about this season (if it’s completed).

And while a championship is still a championship, this year’s SB is gonna be tainted as the Corona Bowl.

Especially if stronger teams have to forfeit due to the virus.

That said, fans of all NFL teams won’t care about being chirped for winning a Corona Bowl (myself included).

this tainted SuperBowl stuff is assinine.

when you look at NFL history and see the REDSKINS with 3 Lombardi's, what comes to your mind??

im guessing 3 Lombardi's right?

this is not an offensive name drill either.

The 1982 Super Bowl should be tainted.
It was 9 game season and a freaking kicker won MVP. No joke a kicker was the league MVP.

If this season misses a couple of games it’s legit but if we start seeing hundred or so players sitting out it does become tainted and stupid to even ponder why it’s being played during a pandemic.

Baseball commissioner is actually surpassing Goodell as the biggest idiot in pro sports commissioner’s chairs.

'87 has 3 Wins by replacement players.

The reigning World Champion Giants replacements, went 0-3.

the Redskins won the NFC East and those 3 wins were in conf, including @dallas & @Giants.

if someone hits .400 that will be tainted, but no champion in any league should feel anything but joy.

2/15 being replacement is not the same thing as a 9 game season and a kicker being the best player in the league for that year.

That 1987 is a legitimate season since it was overwhelming normal. It had a 3 week blimp but 1982 was hot garbage.

Your zeal to be the board contrarian is asinine.

But I’ll play along.

When you look at professional sports history, how many seasons/sports were disrupted by a global pandemic?

None.

There have been many leagues impacted by labor issues (MLB, NHL, NFL, etc). Nobody cares about labor related disruptions because they’re not new.

The Coronavirus pandemic is uncharted territory.

As you were.

i dont even know what your point is.

we all will remember 2020 forever.

if football plays all 16, then what? im supposed to look down on it?

those labor disputes were worse as far as declaring a champion than playing through a pandemic.

baseball at 60 is a little tougher to swallow, the expanded playoffs as well. the cream may not rise to the top there, but football with 16 game , is football with 16 games in a pandemic.
