When your a runner the ball has to cross the plain.
When you are catching the ball you must have possession.
It’s different. Under what he said possession is established.
In this play the TE never established possession he was catching the ball.
He had possession when the ball crossed the line.

He established possession when he caught the ball and landed with a knee down then turned to stretch the ball over the goal. You can’t turn to stretch the ball over the goal if you don’t have possession. There’s no debate. Refs blew it.

Listen I think it was a catch.
I am just explaining the difference between running with the ball and catching the ball.

I know. I’m just saying their shouldn’t be a difference. Guys make all these great plays and get them overturned on technicalities. It’s out of control at this point. The rules on how to score points in a sport shouldn’t be this controversial.

Again, he’s wrong on this. Knee down equals runner. Act of turning to stretch over the goal came after he caught the ball. He’s just defending his ref buddies on a blown call.

You can post these all you want.

It was a catch.

What the hell are we talking about here?

That’s fine if you believe that, but you’re going to be upset every time this call is made going forward.

I am just posting what the guy who doesn’t have a horse in this is saying.
I think it was a catch.
The guys who know the rules are saying it wasn’t.

Exactly. Every week there’s 4 or 5 touchdowns overturned on this ridiculousness. I expect it at this point.

I think this will probably force some rule changes/clarifications going into next year.

At this point you have to hope the Steelers get homefield advantage otherwise this might go down as the worst call in the history of the NFL.

Partial tear of calf muscle for Antonio Brown.
He will play thru it.

Posting those tweets is as bad as the Political board. Those guys are paid to say that. We’ve all played football and watched a billion games. That’s a catch

That’s the bottom line. If there are rules that make that not a catch then the rule needs to be changed.

This is another thing in life where common sense and eye test make the most sense. Not being boggled down by the minutiae of some stupid checklist.

Perreria always calls it the way he sees it.
He calls the league out plenty.

Meh. Dungy just said he agreed with the call as well and said this stems from the Calvin Johnson play against the Bears a few years ago.

KaiserUEO
Pete Carroll: “Hey let’s run the stupidest play ever against the Pats”

Mike Tomlin: “Hold my beer!”

Did I do that right??

Ben can’t force that throw. Guy was covered the whole way. Just throw it out of bounds and get the FG.
