Nike sponsors skills camps for Guards, Wings, and Bigs every summer about this time. The top 30 high school players and the top 15 college players for each position are invited to these camps. The camps provide opportunities for players to develop skills in their respective positions. Following the skills camp, players are invited to the LeBron Skills Camp where they are placed in teams and play in touranament style games. High school players play in front of college coaches, while college players play in front NBA coaches and scouts.

In reviewing the 2014 rosters for each position, I did not find a single player from Syracuse. Meanwhile certain schools have multiple players in different positions, including freshmen. Why is it that Syracuse players are rarely invited considering that Syracuse is a Nike school? Is it because Syracuse players are not good enough to be invited or is the Syracuse program not doing its part to get its players invited or perhaps intentionally keeping them out of these events?

80-90% of all the Cuse commits in recent years have participated in the skills academies. As far as the college players, CJ was a participant during his last 2 seasons and Scoop was also in it going into his senior year.

My assumption is that if JB wants one of our guys in any of these camps, he just makes a phone call. We usually have a good mix of players going to the different camps. Probably very good reasons why they aren't there this summer.
